Value of: Rangers Sabres

Your playoff drought almost has its learner’s permit. How in the hell can you “own” anyone’s fanbase in anything? Like what exactly are you gloating about.
The hockey team you root for being better than the hockey team I root for doesn't make your takes on HFboards correct.

Your bad takes are still bad takes whether or not the Sabres have a 1,000 year playoff drought or not.

The Rangers need a top-4 LHD and some fresh blood in their top 6.

The Sabres need some middle-six physicality up front and a 2nd-pair RHD with size and heft.

To my eyes Bo Byram and JJ Peterka fit the bill perfectly for New York and Will Cuylle and Braden Schnieder do the same for Buffalo.

None of these players are assets their teams would easily give up, so this is very much a you-gotta-give-to-get scenario.

But I don't think it works as a straight 2-for-2 deal: the Sabres are giving up too much upside; the Rangers can't accommodate that return under the cap.

So my question is what would have to be added to make this deal work? Or is it too ambitious and something consisting of just two or three of those parts might work better?

I just really like the roster fits for both teams.

No, because Cuylle isn’t being dealt lol.

Girard and Necas for Zib 50% , Jones and Lafreniere

The Rangers might as well just keep Zibanejad if they’re going to retain 50% for another 5 years.

Rangers add considerably. This has been talked before

No, they don’t, because they’re not dealing Cuylle.

Then you're very likely not getting Byram then :dunno:

You have to give to get.

Cuylle isn’t being dealt, especially not for Byram. An offer sheet might be another story, but it would have to be so unreasonable for them not to match.

An advanced eating crow, I like it.

Nah, the FO has clearly identified the style of play they want their team to play with and Cuylle fits it to a T.

This isn't the own that you think it is. That could have been Eichel or Reinhart lifting the cup in Rangers red, white and blue. Instead, you have this:

When Byram or Peterka lift the cup for Carolina or Edm or Dallas or wherever they end up, I'll be there to post the lame returns you got for Cuylle and Schneider in 2028 too.

Every single poster in here with a Rangers avatar aside from the OP has stated that Cuylle is un-tradeable or that Buffalo needs to add a lot.

I seem to have really hit a nerve with you guys on calling out your awful takes regarding the eichel trade, and now this trade proposal too.

Ironic, being that you sound like a bitter ex-girlfriend and your takes have been nothing short of craptastic.

You have a hard time separating individual takes from the delusional thoughts in your head about “all Rangers fans” don’t you.

That is 100% the case lmao. That guy thinks that 1 or 2 Ranger fans (one of them most likely being Bernmeister, who is the last person to speak for this fanbase) who said things 4 years ago, represent the entirety of a fanbase.

Feel free to quote a single take in this thread from an obvious rangers fan that proves "not all rangers fans" are delusional in their over valuing of Cuylle and Schneider.

Neutral fans are saying its the Rags who need to add.

It took 6 post before a Ranger fan mentioned the value of Cuylle, they said they like Cuylle more.
Another said they don't see NYR moving on from Cuylle.
1 poster called him untouchable and continued with calling 2 completely separate trades bad. This poster has then gone back and forth with others.
1 poster said they'd trade Laf before Cuylle.

And then there you are at post 26 with your classic NYR fans BS, later to be followed by calling a handful the majority. You didn't hit a nerve. You just wanted attention.

Yeah Peterka the guy who just scored 68 points and has literally improved his output every single season is not being moved. I wouldn’t trade Peterka alone for them. He is one of the few Sabres worth keeping .

LOL. Every single one of your 4 examples proves my point.

4 of 4 = 100%. Just like I said in the post that you quoted.

Thank you for literally proving my point about you. If you’re foolish enough to actually believe less than a handful of people overvaluing players represents an entire fanbase, then I’ve given you far too much credit.

Furthermore, if you actually follow what Ranger fans are saying, they don’t want to deal Cuylle, at all, but you’re incapable of understanding this.

Either way, not worth any further waste of time or energy. Off to block you go.

Don’t even bother, he’s either illiterate or being obtuse.

Well, you came running into the thread to mock Ranger fans after only a couple ranked the NYR players higher, and others simply stated how Cuylle brings some more tangible value where NYR are currently lacking. So, yeah, maybe you think the majority = 5 people.

The majority don't even post on the thread boards.
I'd be shocked at anyone ranking the Rangers pair higher....Byram and JJP are generally considered better by nearly everyone.

I don't even see how we move Byram anyway he's perfectly fine as our top pairing LD since Dahlin plays RD anyway if we lost him suddenly our LD looks bad because we just lost one of our two capable guys playing in a top 4 LD slot Samuelsson has been worse and is made of glass unless we think Novikov is making a big jump from the AHL.

I dont think it's so much people ranking Cuylle-Schneider higher so much as its people saying they don't see the Rangers moving Cuylle. Young power forwards who provide good offense at 5v5 don't often get moved. I also think Byram's a concussion risk and Peterka's a prime regression candidate (highest on-ice sh% among F's with 1000 mins, and pretty below water xGF%).

As for the moving Byram thing, I definitely get that. Rangers are looking at a similar issue with K'Andre Miller back there at LHD. Some fans want him gone but nobody has any good recommendations on how to replace him. RHD at least they have 2 guys signed long-term
