Adam Herman is at the Cornell/BU game tonight primarily for BU, but he's been keeping an eye on Barron. I imagine he's taking notes and will have some sort of post-game analysis on him, or some write up on BlueshirtsBanter, for folks who want a recap or to look at his recent Twitter feed.

BU making a strong comeback. 4-3 Cornell lead with just under 5 minutes remaining in regulation. That third BU goal was weird.

Well, people are writing off 19-year old Lias Andersson so this isn't that much of a reach (See? I used Lias Andersson and the word "reach" in a sentence haha)

Did anyone actually write him off?

Its unfortunate that its the situation, but I don't think the complaints are necessarily going to go away. People didn't like the pick, doesn't mean he's being written off.

With five points in sixteen games, Nanne is third on Minnesota in scoring among defensemen (the other two guys have six points). He also leads all defensemen in shots. Not too shabby for a guy that didn't play for two years, getting back into action at a premiere program.

I had totally forgotten Shatty went to BU. It was jarring but he got booed lustily so that made me feel good. So did winning. Really wanted Barron to score but he'll have 3 mores chances and he played well.

Between periods of the Ranger game Friday night I turned on NBCSN, which televised the Minnesota-Notre Dame hockey game. In the couple of minutes that I saw every time Nanne got the puck he was pushing it up ice and took several shots. It is obvious this guy has some offensive ability. Once we get through football season there will be more college hockey games available to watch and I hope to see more of Minnesota. Casey Middlestadt was noticeable but Notre Dame shut out Minnesota although Minnesota had a big advantage in shots. The Notre Dame goal was scored by Andrew Ogilvie who attended the Rangers development camp this summer.

Tarmo Reunanen has now played 6 games with the Jr. A (U20) squad for TPS. He has "played" 19 games for TPS in Liiga competition, though he actually only skated in 14.

Sjalin, who has been injured, got into two J20 SuperElit games. I assume that was just to work himself back into shape and not an actual demotion, since he has apparently been playing well.

Ronning had a goal last night on 7 shots, giving him 25 goals in 27 games (37 points).

Huska stopped 27 of 28 for the W. He has allowed one goal in each of his last four starts, winning three. He was kinda derailed by the knock he sustained in-game a month or so back but has rebounded nicely. Save percentage back up to a respectable .911.

Bereglazov was scoreless in his game yesterday. He's now played 8 games since going back, and is scoreless with an even plus/minus.

Also, Wall is definitely the clear #2 at this point. He started the first three games and posted poor but not awful performances. Then he gave up 4 goals on 13 shots the next game before getting pulled. Benched for the next night. Gets another look a couple weeks later and allows 5 goals on 38 shots in an OTL. Gets in a game the next weekend (Nov. 4) and allows 4 goals on 10 shots, gets yanked. In all, he's been in 5 games (pulled from two), with a 4.99 GAA and .825 SV% (gulp). Obviously, he's 0-5.

It sucks, because he was good last season, albeit behind a tremendous defense. Then he comes out and shits the bed this year, and unfortunately it doesn't look like he's going to be given much of a chance to redeem his season. The other goalie, a Junior (Wall is a Sophomore) is 8-2 with a 1.64 GAA and .939 SV%, plus 2 SO. Wall's stock taking a big hit.

Virta had two assists, snapping his extended points drought. For the sixth time this year, Tarmo got the "They let me in the lineup but not on the ice :'(" treatment. As a side note, this came against KooKoo, where Stromwall now plays. He's doing well for himself with 5+2 in 8 games.

Lakatos embarrassingly had to play a second game in the second-tier Czech league. He scored a goal and has 2 points in 2 games. Not good that he's down there. As I suggested earlier, maybe he needs a change.

Shesterkin won, stopping 28 of 30.

For those who have seen him play, how does his game compare to Brendan Gallagher?
