Great points.

I want to add one thing too, a players points/season, points per games etc — are mostly unit/team influenced stats.

I am not sure if +\- 50% is enough to adjust for environment when it comes to points scored. Why the — heck — are people bring up like decimals on PPGs when they are comparing prospects?

It’s says — nothing — if a kid scored 35 pts in 50 games or 20 pts in 50 games in a league in Europe. Nothing. Sure, the info that one kid scored 10 pts and another 40 pts in the SHL starts to have some kind of value. But to be honest, not that much.

True, but I am guilty of this as well. Perhaps it has to do with stats being readily available online for most leagues but video content just coming around in the past year or two.

We all are, but I was mostly referring to like someone looking at one player with 0.48 PPG and another with 0.52 PPG and then drawing the conclusion that the later had like a better draft year.

If you guys want to hear a master class in a player giving nothing answers, they interviewed Gettinger on the latest episode of the Hockey News podcast. I wouldn’t say you need to listen to it, because you can probably just fill in the answers to every question yourself, but just a heads up to anyone interested

Because it also means that SKA will try harder to resign him now, offering more money, etc.
Eh, he has said he wants to play in the NHL and his favorite player is Henke. If he's for real, he'll come over. If he's not that sincere in his desire, maybe he'll stay. I don't think any other transactions will have any real impact on it. Either he wants to come or he doesn't.

Did you watch the WJC? He was a f*****g wreckingball. Had a very impressive tournament imo. He could be our next Girardi, but with Higher IQ and better skating.

I haven't seen him play but those are lofty comparisons, we tend to forget but Girardi was an All star after all... I hope you are right!

Shestyorkin has probably been the player I want under the Rangers control for a while now.

I'd just prefer him in an environment that is focused on developing him for the long haul.

I'd think he jumps right into the NHL after a few starts in the AHL. A 50-32 split of him and Hank can turn the tides.
