Most of Keanes production last year came sans Svechnikov

I thought he got a good chunk of powerplay time with Svechnikov and that the powerplay essentially was run through Svechnikov when he was there

He did. But I remember someone did a break down on his production and svechnikov had a relatively minimal impact (on his raw production, being on the ice with svech for sure had an impact that can’t really be quantified in this regard.)

Let me try to flag down the tweet

Thanks, I haven’t seen that. Also, just to be clear I wasn’t trying to say that Svechnikov is the reason he had a good year last year, I just assumed his point totals would’ve seen a bump from playing with him and in a round about way trying to figure out what I’m expecting from him this season

TPS has been bad but they're also playing a child (Kakko) on their top line and Lauri Pajuniemi who is usually middle-6 on their 4th line. So theres that. When you make a guy with some offensive talent like Pajuniemi play a gritty pesty role you lose his attacking skills. He does not have the linemates to make anything happen and he is not given the right opportunities to give TPS any offense. It is just bad coaching.

For sure.

Here is the tweet I was talking about, It was actually Svech having a minimal impact on Primary points rather than Points all together.

Admittedly, I have been a bit concerned about Rykov's desire to come to NA next year, with the depth of LD the team has.

That said, with SKA (seemingly) being petty about him potentially leaving, and punishing him, I am less concerned than I was

I feel Rykov could be traded. Similar to Buchnevich when Severstal knew he wasn't coming back, they traded him midway through to SKA.

The coaches in the KHL are basically Pejorative Slured. They play old bastards consistently and scrubs who aren't all that good. My guess is they play guys that are drinking buddies. I've said it for a while. The elite Swedish league and AHL are better leagues

if/when Rykov comes, Smith and Staal won't stay in his way, certainly not for long; maybe not even Skjei

he played 100 KHL games at 19 and 20 ... even sheltered, that's impressive

certainly more qualified near-term than Hajek, Lindgren, Gilmour, OGara, Claesson, Bigras, Crawley, Day, Pedrie

and he's basically just as young, none are more than 10 months younger than YR

(but yeah, wow, that's 12 LHD active NA pros...

I wouldn't put Claesson in that group. He already has 113 NHL games played along with 14 playoff game experience. He's not a prospect by any means and can hold his own than to the ones listed in your post....

I also wouldn't say Smith, Staal and, especially, Skjei need to be worried. They have veteran experience in the NHL, something Rykov does not have. Rykov would also have to work extremely hard to make the NYR roster, as there could be just one or two spots open come opening night in 2019.

But I agree that Rykov is capable of making an NHL team. It's just a matter of when he does.
