maybe the Rangers feel that AHL time will be good for him but only if he is ready. maybe with the lack of depth at center, they want to give me a chance sooner rather than later

Yes, very surprising.
Thanks! I got afraid that I would get a bunch of replies like “duh we had a bunch of unsigned Euros there every year for the last decade”, but I just couldn’t think of anyone and I still can’t.
why else would Henriksson consider this unless he has been told that the Rangers might sign him depending on how he does, and let him play in the AHL? has a european player played in this tournament and then went back to europe to play during the season?
Who owns Hendrickson’s CHL rights?
I don't believe anyone drafted him.Who owns Hendrickson’s CHL rights?
Hmmm...Henriksson wasn't picked in the Import Draft
None from me. For instance, Nils Lundqvist wasn't drafted, either. Seems like the CHL import draft, most teams pick guys they think might actually forgo their European team commitment. In round one, anyway. Then they either start skipping picks, or take flyers on other guys that are "pie in the sky" picks. So, I don't read anything into it.Hmmm...
Thoughts?

Henriksson is the most surprising of the list. I would say his situation will be similar to Calle Andersson's a few years back. I don't think he plays in Hartford and this pretty much proves that he'll be in J20 to start the year.
CHL Import Draft is a bit like the KHL equivalent. It's not necessarily the best player they pick but the one most likely to commit to that league
You mean to tell me Mikhail Pashnin wasn’t the best player in his age group? Nonsense I tell you!
It’s really not that big of a deal, he wasn’t all that good of a prospect to begin withAndersson also left and never came back, which is a shame, while his brother is in North America and had a good rookie year on the Flames. its a shame Andersson did not have the will power to stay with the Rangers organization. what a waste of a draft pick and prospect. i don't have respect for prospects like that.

depth is depth. maybe he could have been a 5th or 6th someone like Stralman. who knows. could have taken someone that was willing to stay in North America or in the AHL.It’s really not that big of a deal, he wasn’t all that good of a prospect to begin with
