Voted for Lias. I think there's a tendency to take a really optimistic view of prospects when they're facing easy competition and you mostly see their highlights and then to overreact when they get to the NHL and aren't immediately studs. In actuality, playing in the NHL at all at age 20 is a big deal and is very impressive. I suspect a lot of the people who are down on Lias will end up getting down on the prospects they are promoting over him when those guys struggle to adjust to the NHL too. He's been one of the most impressive players for his age in multiple leagues (SuperElite, SHL, WJC, and AHL) for years and I think it's premature to change the opinion on him based on the fact that it's tough to adjust to the NHL at age 20 and a bad half season on a Hartford team that was a trainwreck.

Add Reunanen again.

Do you still think he can be a 2nd liner?

Definitely.

One of my hopes with guys like Kakko and Kravtsov in the system, is that it allows guys who are a tier down from them, at least offensively, to not have a spotlight, aimed through a magnifying glass, pointed directly at them. Be it Andersson, be it Howden, or even Chytil, I think they can all be players who have a strong, positive impact on a roster. But with the possible exception of Chytil, they're not the guys you want to be your very top offensive weapons.

I still think we need someone similar to that on defense, with all due respect to Trouba, Miller, etc. Hopefully that comes with time. But when you get a keystone/cornerstone piece in place, it can be amazing to see how everything else falls in line around that.

Ah I was hoping you would do this list again! I'll add it for future polls, thanks!

I'm actually very pleasantly surprised Lias is getting so many votes, I thought the whole fan base gave up on him but I guess it was just a few posters (loud posters).

I voted Lundkvist but I have no problem with Lias here. I've definitely noticed so many people down on him -- and I also see no reason why I should be expecting him to be a failure. Lots of guys don't bloom right away. Frankly I don't even see a reason why I should write him off as a potential first liner, if our first line centers of the past have been guys like Stepan or Brad Richards or Derek Brassard.

But I'll be cautious and say I certainly don't see why Lias couldn't become a defensively responsible 50-60 point second line center, at this stage.

voted for Nils but happy to see Lias get some love for a change

Add Barron

For me, it feels like Andersson and Chytil have been here forever. We've talked about them so much that it's almost east to forget we're talking about a 20 year old kid and a 19 year old kid.
Yeah, like Andersson is six months younger than Fox.
