Should be Shesty

Then Miller
Lol at Miller being our #5 prospect.

I vote entirely on what I see as a player’s absolute ceiling is today. While I think Shesty will be a solid starter, maybe even a high end one, I don’t see him as a Vezina guy. I think Miller’s absolute ceiling is Norris Trophy. So even though Shesty is more likely to get to his at this point in time, I still voted for Miller. It’s why I voted for Miller last round too.
Everyone had a different way of ranking these things, which is why this poll is useful. It ends up balancing out all the methods.
Yeah if we're going just strictly ceilings Miller is #2 behind Kakko.
Well, the standard I mentioned above was the Hockey's Future standard, and they used it across the site in prospect rankings, articles, etc. It was generally the standard all the boards used as well. Since Hockey's Future proper is dead, we could come up with our own standard, but can you imagine the fight that would lead to here?I've always thought it was just easier to use a preexisting standard that was generally accepted. JMO, though.
I hear ya, I'd be in down with a U23 thing or something. These prospect polls, I guess it's just a matter of, "we've always done it this way," for better or worse.Yeah, it's why I think it just makes more sense to use an age cutoff as there is nothing to bicker about there (outside of the initial bickering of what age to use.) While this is a fun thing to do it doesn't really mean much. Personally, I would be more interested in seeing every teams list of young players to see which teams are trending where and not just a list of players who havent played in the NHL yet.
Seems silly to not count a 20 year old as part of a list of prospects just because they happened to spend 60 something games developing in the NHL instead of the KHL.
I also dont think its crazy to standardize what people are ranking based on. Value in a trade or ranking based on who you would take on an imaginary expansion draft (contract status not being considered.)
Would make it a lot easier to really compare across teams and keep track of who the up and coming teams truly are.

Lias Andersson is not cracking my Top 10.

**** man, I remember being excited about Richard Nejezchleb.
He’s underrated manIf georgiev is eligible he should almost be a 3b with Shesterkin
Roman Horak was the truth.Richard Nejezchleb, Shane McColgan, Andrew Yogan, Michael St. Croix.
I've only seen the stats, but never watched Shesterkin play. What stops him from a Vezina as a possible peak, if Miller can win a Norris?I vote entirely on what I see as a player’s absolute ceiling is today.
