So the main boards are doing a Team Prospect Ranking....Ranger's are running away as the #1 prospect pool. Gotta say that's a pretty damn good feeling

Thanks for posting that link. It's amazing how the prospect pool has done a 180 in 2-3 years. The deepest I have ever seen a ranger team have.

Robertson, and it's amazing that our highest 2nd round selection in the draft is likely going to be ranked as our 11th rated prospect. Our depth is truly insane. Praise Gorton.

I legit completely forgot that Lindbom was even an option. Hopefully he will have forced his way into the conversation more by the time our post-WJC poll comes around.

Damn, there were times in the not too distant past when we would have been happy with these choices for our #1 prospect.

Incredibly difficult choice too. In the end, I took Barron, but if I’d eaten something different for dinner or gotten a better night’s sleep last night, I might have gone with Reunanen or Robertson.

Add Jones by a hair over Gettinger due to upside.

It really is too bad that they decided to go the goaltender path with that pick.

I find myself wondering if Gorton announcing this year that "we won't be taking a goalie" with our first round pick wasn't a bit of a wry call-back to the minor online uproar that came with the Lindbom selection.

Also, I will say that HFNYR has been surprisingly mature in separating hate for the pick from opinions of the prospect (albeit, in my case, I keep going long periods of time forgetting that the kid exists*).

At the time, I thought he said it as a way of playing cute and "opening up" to the media while not actually sharing any useful information.

I only read the quote though, and never actually seen the interview.

As far as Lindbom goes he's a guy who could go up a lot in the next ranking or the one after but for now--IMO 1. he was a real reach last year where he was taken and 2. the greater part of his season was lost to injury so I haven't got much of a read on him but to me he was a possibility to be 4th rounder last year so I'd be ranking him down a ways--not as highly as guys like Robertson or Henriksson or even Keane, Jones or Ragnarsson and IMO the Rangers got another real sleeper in Elmer. My guess is Lindbom might come in around 25 give or take two or three.

Some of them have had good (or as expected) D+1 years. I don’t know how you can argue that their rankings were completely arbitrary. They were based on plenty of scouts and analysts. Names weren’t just picked out of a hat. But this is the only real bad move that Gorton has made during the rebuild imo, so I can forgive him.

I am not saying I loved the pick on draft day. I definitely feel he was picked too high but some people make it sound as if Lindbom was 7th round material and that's just not the case. It was not the best pick, and we definitely could have done better, but it's not as if we picked some nobody that was not ranked at all
