Why does this surprise you? Are we missing something? Jones is a 6/7 type Dman that is small and his future with this team is unknown with guys like Scanlin, Robertson, and Emberson competing for a spot as well. Cuylle played well last year, scored 25 goals, is 6'3" 210 and has middle 6 potential.

C’on, he has more potential than 15 points lmao. Reaves had 15 points in 60 games last season.

He probably averages out at around 30 points as a 3rd/4th liner.

Cuylle hit another gear mid season. The
Majority of his production came after the new year.

For all the crap the rangers and the organization get for player development, he’s one guy who clearly got better as the season went on and was a big part of the offense on a team that went on a heater to get into the AHL playoffs after the group looked like a lost cause for most of the season. Saying he has 15 point upside is up there with the dumbest things I’ve ever read here, including Jovos Kravtsov stuff.

Wanna bet? The only people who think Jones has anymore than a 6/7 type ceiling are Ranger fans. Absolutely no surprise that Cuylle was picked 3rd.
