You're not wrong, Emberson was for my money the best overall defenseman in Hartford last year. I considered making him my add before going with Robertson. While Emberson was better start to finish I do think Robertson improved a lot in the second half and my decision to add him is based on my belief that he has more room for growth than Emberson. But, Emberson is a reasonable add here, too.

I’m with you. Robertson had a rough year.
I have Jones, Scanlin and Emberson ranked above him on my depth chart.
Nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong by Robertson.

Why does this surprise you? Are we missing something? Jones is a 6/7 type Dman that is small and his future with this team is unknown with guys like Scanlin, Robertson, and Emberson competing for a spot as well. Cuylle played well last year, scored 25 goals, is 6'3" 210 and has middle 6 potential.
