We are definitly going to be adding 2 next round as 1 and 2 will be locked up after this poll. So everyone can nominate 2. My second nomination is BMB as well.

Just because the consensus is that Perreault is the better prospect, doesn't mean it's true. It all depends on what the criteria are.

Pure upside? Perreault
Probability of reaching the NHL? Othmann
Playmaking? Perreault
Goalscoring? Othmann
Skating? Perreault
Forecheck? Othmann

It's a debate worth having. To simply refer to polls elsewhere as the absolute truth seems shortsighted in my opinion.

These 2 kids are very close but like I said, it depends on what you value more.

Othmann has taken steps in his development, we hope to see from Perreault. A year from now, this could very well be a completely different discussion. But I don't see anything wrong with people voting for Othmann here.

The key difference for me is hockey IQ. Othmann's is alright, good even, but Perreault's is elite. There's an uncanny similarity to me b/t Perreault and Fox, from the small amounts I've seen of Perreault. Good poise, but it feels like he can move the rest of the players around on the ice with his mind alone

Voted Othmann this time, but believe GP will be the better prospect in half a year. Both are VERY good prospects, and love to have both in our pool. I think Othman will be a Dubinsky style middle 6 winger, and GP a MZA style top 6 winger, but with a few more question-marks regarding the chance to make it. If we in 5 year have Laf, Kakko, Othman and GP as our top 6 wingers I believe we are set on the wings. With Cuylle, Sykora, Berard, Edström, Rempe etc filling out the bottom six on the wings. D is young and still a few coming trough the next years, but when Trocheck and Z getting older at that point we are thin on young C. Would love to stack up on C the coming drafts (if we are not lucky getting a gift like GP dropping to us).

A future Tyler Bertuzzi is easily our #1 prospect. People act like 50 point wingers grow on trees.

Anyway, I went with Othmann here, though Perrault would probably jump him with a strong freshman season at BC.

Sykora is the easy add here. Garand will be next.
 
I feel like getting Perreault at 23 is our compensation for drafting Lias Andersson and Vitali Kravtsov where we did. He is likely going much higher in a redraft. I like everything about his game and feel like he may be a Vinny Prospal type player for us

I still laugh every time I think back to how people called him Vinny.
 
Othmann for me with Perreault a close 2nd. I think they are both going to be very good NHLers. Perreault does have the higher upside and was a steal at 23 but I like Othmann's game also and he is much closer to the NHL. Perreault is still 2-3 years away. Add Sykora and BMB.

Who gives a shit? You made a poll directly after a hyped draft when we just picked a guy at 23 who was projected to go 10-15. I would say a lot of that is recency bias in full display. You think other teams fans know a lot about Othmann who was picked a few years ago?

Exactly what I was thinking. Dubinsky is a good comparison I think for Othmann. And that's a darn good player IMO.

And agree on Perreault. He has big time upside. He's going to just about as good a hockey program you can go to historically. BC is going to be stacked up front. Great place for him to develop the next couple of years.
