Rangers Prospect Poll - Othmann vs Kravtsov for #1 (VOTE NOW IF YOU HAVENT, VERY CLOSE!)

#1 Rangers Prospect

  • V. Kravtsov

  • B. Othmann

  • Other

Results are only viewable after voting.
I went Othmann as I think he’s more suited for the NHL game. Hope to see Krav add some muscle in the future.

I guess I was the deciding vote.

Went with Othmann.

IMO he will be better than Kravtsov, comparing aged seasons. I still think Kravtsov can develop into a Buch type... but Buch was already putting up points at his age.

Othmann at age 22-23 will be ahead of Kravtsov at 22-23.

It's very close though. There's also that shiny, 'unknown' factor for Othmann.

@EdJovanovski right now:

It’s a tie lmao
But one of Othmann’s votes was a guy saying he only voted for him because he considers Krav graduated from prospect status :sarcasm:
I'm getting called into work now so I won't be able to make the new poll yet, since it's still tied I re-opened it till tomorrow AM.

Lets hope we get some more votes to break the tie, shame we have so many more than 100 active posters here and they aren't voting :dunno:

Really don't want to start the list at #1 with a tie already

It's not tied. It's 56 to 53.

No way Othmann should win this. Major question marks in my mind if he can be an NHL regular with that skating.
His skating look fine here in the pre-season.

He has the 'it' factor. He'd be one of the few players on this team that wants the puck. He also will do what it takes to win.

Kravtsov is a better skater but when have we've seen it so far this season? Othmann has a better shot and mindset for NA hockey. His strengths, besides the elite skating, is what this team lacks

Kravtsov registered a 100MPH slapshot in the KHL All Star Game when he was younger than Othmann.

If anything Krav is playing too vanilla and North American style out of fear of Gallant, hence him being in the 91st percentile in the NHL defensively. Gallant isn’t letting him play his game and that’s why he’s always glancing back at the bench and sprinting to it to be the first off every shift and leave the PP with 15 seconds left. Krav is the first man back on practically every backcheck and is a stud defensively and does all the little things right. I don’t get this narrative that he’s like a one trick pony Zherdev/Robbie Schremp type of guy

Kravtsov’s is a victim of Gallant’s coaching style that only applies to Vitali.
Gallant has stated since his Vegas days that he wants players to play their game and that he doesn’t bench players when they make missteps because he doesn’t want them playing scared.
Kravtsov is not playing his game. He always the first one on his line looking to leave the ice on line changes and appears to always be checking his offense even when the play is there just so he doesn’t get trapped in the offensive zone.
Not a good way for NHL development. Too much of a short leash on this talented of a young player.
Stopped reading after “Kravtsov is a victim…”
