How’d I do that? I said Panarin is responsible for a lot of his success and therefore not to read too much into his (Strome’s) performance. I don’t see a contradiction.

Strome has been great for the Rangers since he got here. All I hear from some posters is he's slow, he has an unsustainable shooting %, blah blah blah. All he has done is produce.

Strome has done a great job since getting here.
The problem is..In reality, he's a 3rd line C on a competitive team.

It's not hard to think we might have found another Brassard-type who just develops later and becomes a solid 2C. He's 26 and just entering his prime. This shouldn't be all that surprising.

Strome will obviously never hit his draft expectation.

Now I see, he’s the second coming of Brassard who I might add had his best 2 years with us. Previous to his time here he had a high of 17g and 47pts. After leaving he hasn’t hit 40. You might be proving my point

He has only played about 8 games of his 80 games with this team with Panarin....I have no idea how you feel his success here has been because of #10. He was running roughly a point a game this year before he was put with Panarin, and it was the reason he was given the spot and not someone else.

I don't understand this. You're saying Strome is basically garbage without Panarin. And I'm saying that he might just be hitting his stride later than some other players. Again, not shocking if his next 3-4 years are his best, since he's entering his prime.

That doesn't prove your point, since you're basically arguing he's not a good player. He is a good player. He might only be a good player for 3-4 seasons, but right now he's at the beginning of that point, so what's your deal?

They've only been sick for a few days now.
It's still no excuse not to have any structure at this point.
I can deal with any bumps and bruises that come with having a young team but it's an absolute crime that fundamentals are still not in place at this point IMO.

I didn’t say trash. I said a 35-40 point player. Half of his current pace. Panarin is making him look way better than that. That was my point (Ie “the Panarin effect).”

He’s playing well, I agree. Great for us. But let’s not lose sight of his true talent level. Saying he’s a legit 2C is foolish. Chytil has more talent is his right pinky finger and likely will be our real 2C. Perspective that’s all I’m saying.
