BCA.

Looking forward to seeing how he does with this roster and also what changes he'll want Sather to make. Should be interesting leading up to camp.

Are they doing Traverse City this year?

Wondering how messier will handle this..

Seems he really wanted the job..

Well, who wouldn't? I wanted the job too ;)

I like the signing of AV. People arguing about him not winning a Cup before need to realize that even Keenan didn't win the Cup before joining the Rangers

Kesler was injured the majority of the year; he's a huge part of their PP.

It was 4th, 1st, and 6th in the three years prior, so...

While I'll admit Kesler is an addition to the powerplay, for the past seasons dating EXACTLY after January 7th, 2012 we have absolutely looked uninspired. That's on the coach to try new ideas. And in fact he seemed to veto some ideas to change it up

He has a habit of not trusting young players and over-trusting veterans that seem to be struggling to the point of management telling AV to NOT play Bieksa more than 25 minutes a game, which AV promptly told them to stuff it (politely)

All in all, AV is a good coach with his faults (like any coach) and a message being tuned out despite how much the players said they weren't. It was a due change.

Great news. He was who I wanted (unless Weight/Laviolette got fired).

Any way we can get some players who he's comfortable with to come here?

DZ for Kesler would seriously interest me. Add's C depth, powerplay help, and a player who'll bring leadership and help players grow into this new system.

Amazing turn of events for Alain Vigneault. Was very close to agreeing with Dallas, before agreeing with NYR. #brightlightsofbroadway

I really doubt this. Dallas were being used as leverage the whole time. Vigneault didn't want to go to a rebuilding team.

Or hold onto DZ and see what he can do when a coach removes the chains from him...

Also, you guys know AV's power play was **** last year too? Isn't that one of this boards biggest complaints??

It was but AV's Canucks had a superb PP the two years before hand... Where as Tort's PP was crap the entire time he was here.

Wouldn't interest Vancouver, that's for sure.

Fantastic article. Canucks have been a solid puck possession team under AV and they simply lost to better teams the past two years ahead of them in fenwick ratings. (Sharks and Kings) The Rangers the past two years also lost to teams with better fenclose/fenwick rating.

So the Nucks haven't really choked, they just ran into better teams.

Kersh, you really do find a way to find the negative in anything.

Perhaps. How serious was his injury? Hasn't he dealt with injuries often during his tenure there? Maybe a change of scenery for him too?

They have no one to center their second line if Kesler isn't there. They don't have the depth to move Kesler.

Wouldn't mind Lapierre if we trade Boyle. Anybody know how Lapierre is in the faceoff circle?

Boyle > Lapierre.

That being said, I wouldn't mind Lapierre even if Boyle wasn't traded. He can play wing, would make a nice fourth line.

Oh well. If that's the reality of the situation I believe we'll have to look for other places to trade Del Zotto to.

I like a 4th line of Clowe-Boyle-Dorsett. Already have all 3 (if choose to keep Clowe).

He was injured all last season, but played through it, and was much less effective because of it. He missed most of this year, so he has really only been 100% for the end of this year.

If we had another competent centre option then sure, but I just don't see us trading RK17 unless we get a centre via an Edler trade or something

I'd imagine Canucks trading / signing another left handed defenseman would be extremely low on the list of priorities.
