Speaking of Nash, I have no problem with what he did to Palat. I just wish it was Callahan or Stamkos. I'm getting tried of this team.

I feel like that was Nash freaking out instead of actually head hunting. Palat ran at him and he just threw his arms up (and kinda just tossed Palat by the head). Really not sure what the hell he was doing with Johnson (?) though.

Smacking the little **** in the head that's what he was doing. Fine by me. Nobody got hurt.

I'm sure that I am not the only person to hate the way the Rangers let Callahan feast on them.
I wish somebody had made a point of putting him down so hard with demolishing check.
I guess that would be frowned upon, though.

Like I said, Nash had the right idea but the wrong player.

Incredibly frustrating game to lose.

This has to mean the demise of Tanker Glass. Or at least a healthy scratch........right?

Holy **** does this team miss McDonagh.

I'm still amazed at people that talk about Fast like he's jan erixon. I see nothing special about his defensive play. I see him pinned in his own zone plenty

JT Miller NEVER EVER has gotten the kind of leeway to make some mistakes that others have.

You know how Id fix this team over night?

Kreider Stepan MSL
Nash Brassard Zucc
Hagelin Miller Stempniak
Glass Moore Hayes

Hayes closest guy we have to Brian Boyle and he can work the boards which helps dom Moore's game.

Miller is fast and skilled putting two responsible wingers with him helps him out. Give this kid a friggen chance to play jesus

JT Miller sucks. He doesn't deserve another chance at this point. He does nothing good in the NHL.

Hayes is NOTHING like Boyle aside from his size.

Yeah, it looked like he saw Palat at the last second and tried to avoid the hit, he was pulling his hands and stick up to move out of the way but he caught Palat.

Speaking of that play, how did Johnson not get a roughing penalty? He went right to Nash and Nash locked on sure but Johnson got a few shots in. Seemed unfair after that for only Nash to get the second penalty, should've been off setting roughing minors.

Seriously. Nobody laying the body on him, combined with him playing with the best scorer in the world kind of makes it easy for him to get some points.

Might have a lot to do with that big fat anchor Tanner Glass being within 100 feet of him almost at all times

This is the biggest problem. Staal is still a good defenseman but he's getting the majority of the tough assignments. Once McDonagh is back Staal can settle back into being the 2LD and i guarantee his play will vastly improve.

You make a good point. The return of McDonagh will help in so many ways, this is one.

I mean, Staal was a borderline 1st pair D at one point, but for the past few years he's settled into the 2nd pair role. This does have an impact on him as a player. He can handle Crosby, Giroux and Ovechkin still, it just helps to also have a first pair LD ahead of him to also share the load of the tough assignments.

It's not coincidence that Staal has been Jekyll and Hyde while McDonagh has been out. I'm confident once we get McD back our defense will return to being dominant.

Also, as much as I loved Stralman and wish the Rangers kept him, at this point it's not even worth complaining about because Dan Boyle has been excellent. Dynamic offensively and solid in his own end. I also think the return of McDonagh will help Boyle too. He can slide in next to Staal and play the rover as he does so well. Very happy with Boyle so far.

Our D has still made progress, I feel. At one point it sucked with or without McDonagh. Now it's at the point where it should be without McDonagh, which understandably is hit or miss.

That being said, I've still pretty much had it with Staal. For a guy with his offensive "capabilities" he should be unbelievable defensively. He should be able to step right in for McDonagh and do the job consistently.

If he can't, I have to ask the age old question: "what exactly do you do here?"

That's what happens when you're on a line with Tanner Glass.

Staal had a perfectly fine game IMO. He's over exposed because no McD.

Over-exposed, aka, his **** play is even more apparent.

Completely agree about Boyle. Also our PP looks good with him QBing it.

Hayes is a lot more like boyle than U think he uses his size well in the O zone on the walls. Wins a lot of battles and cycles well. That meshes very well with dom moore's game. That fourth line is missing that possession in the O zone hayes size strength and possession skills are very similar. Hayes not as physical but he's good defensively and has better vision than boyle. But he's a much better fit there

Miller hasn't gotten a real chance whatsoever. He's buried constantly when everyone else gets zero accountability from the coach

Why do people keep saying this? He's had 60 NHL games.
