I'm surprised some of you are acting like it was a total BS call. Did you see the replay? He clearly hit him with his stick while his stick was parallel to the ice. It was a textbook crosscheck. Was it vicious? No. Do players get away with that stuff all the time? No doubt. And did a lot of worse stuff get let go tonight? Absolutely. Doesn't change the fact it's a cross check. Right call, but soft as putty.

Don't know if you are being sarcastic but that is a lame call. And if you can be honest you will agree. That rarely gets called, especially at the end of a game.

We were pretty good tonight. A couple of guys cost us this game.

And I hate to throw this excuse out but the officiating was absolutely abhorrent tonight.

I'd say they played well for stretches, but again goes back to playing a full 60 minute game. They went long stretches without shots, then tried to play catch up too little too late.

I'll start with the refs.

1) Nash deserved a highstick.Johnson IMO was going after him. To me there should not have been another penalty on that play but if there was one it should have gone to Johnson. TB would have scored a PWP out of that anyway.

2) The Kucherov goal--not saying it shouldn't have counted but that's a goal that the Rangers would never get.

3) The call against Kreider at the end was just ****ing weak. You see that over and over and over in a close game in the closing minute and it's almost never called.

All in all though TB was the better team tonight. Getting 3 goals against Bishop--but we don't generate enough offense against this team.

Staal did not have a good game. He needs to start laying a hurt on his former teammate Callahan who is just scoring too easily. Glass not a good game either.

Rangers do not match up well with the Lightning and as it stands now they are the better team, bottom line.

It wasn't perfect but we had a chance to beat a very good team on the road. To be robbed of that because one guy got burned on 3 different goals is frustrating.

Glass got benched after he screwed up and allowed the 4th goal... Maybe av is finally realizing how ****ing useless glass is

Maybe I'm seeing things, but wasn't Glass on the ice the very first shift after the goal?

It wasn't as bad as the loss to TB at the Garden a few weeks ago, but there were a few startling similarities - Cally owning us, long stretches where Tampa would dominate play, Tampa's speed burning our D, sloppiness with the puck, etc.

Kreider needs to find more consistency in his game and become more disciplined. Only 4 goals this season and a ton of penalties.

I thought MSL looked better against Tampa at the Garden. It seemed like he was gripping his stick too tight in his first game back at Tampa. Dan Boyle, on the other hand, had a solid game against his former team.

If Glass absolutely must play, his minutes should be cut back and then double shift someone else on that line if need be. That whole situation is just frustrating, he's not a 4th liner capable of taking regular shifts.

In what world were we pretty good? It's funny, Dan Boyle almost had 2 goals but I'm still depressed by how Stralman is still a boss and our D can't get out of its own zone. Breaks my heart.

I'm really happy with Boyle. I know he has talent that Stralman squared would never ever have.

The difference this season in a bunch of games is the PK . Whether its less shot blocking from former players or Henke making the big save it's huge . From top five to middle of the pack is huge especially against a team like TB that thrives on the PP . TB , Isles , PITT all the teams we need to beat are lethal PP teams . Ira fine if our mediocre PP is counter balanced by a top PK . Losing the specials teams battle every night and the face off battle is not key to a success in the new possession and specialty team driven NHL

This is a game where it's acceptable to complain about Glass. He was directly responsible for two goals against including the game winner. What a joke.

It's time to sit him and roll Fast-Moore-Stempniak and see how it works.

Knowing AV either Fast or Duclair will be scratched.

Or he could just keep scratching Stempniak who has been awesome :shakehead

BTW, tremendously weak call on Kreider that late in the game. He barely touched Stralman. Perhaps the ref meant to call Brassard who cross checked someone harder, but either way, neither deserved a penalty with 25 seconds left in the game.

Very frustrating game. Seemed like they really only got motivated after going down 4-2.

Dan Boyle was the best defenseman tonight. He's so mobile it makes the offense so much more dangerous.

With how badly we played, Tampa didn't do that much better, really. If Boyle's shot went in instead of hitting metal, it might have been a completely different story.

AV finally gave Glass enough rope to hang himself tonight. At one point in the second period, he was ahead of Duclair in total ice time, which I think is a joke considering that Hayes's line was our best for a long stretch of the game. Our reward was seeing him completely miss an assignment for the second Callahan goal, botch an odd-man rush with literally no one around him, and handing TB their fourth goal. I can't ****ing believe that Stempniak was not dressed while this guy handed over the game. Interestingly, Hagelin was on the 4th line with Moore and Fast late in the 3rd period but I might be reading too much into it. I have an odd feeling we're going to see a lot more of him.

Zero shots for St. Louis tonight. He just didn't seem visible enough. Nice goal by Zucc and had a few decent shifts. Nash in beast mode for his goal, but was also pretty quiet otherwise. Kreider needs to look at himself, I really don't know what he's thinking (I don't mean the penalty).

Girardi and Klein I thought were okay and Hunwick was surprisingly good, even though he is as slow as **** in chasing pucks through the neutral zone. Moore also wasn't too bad, although he might look better when compared to Staal. Congratulations to Boyle on his first goal.

We dominate Philly, and they're in a terrible position right now

Sounds like the perfect recipe to get 0 points from the home and home
