I've already chalked this up to a down year from Hank. Though, I'm curious to see how Hank will do at the Olympics.
Ok but if fists started swinging, Phaneuf wins easily, thats all i'm saying. I'm not taking anything away from Kreider, people are too sensitive
Why don't you just face it - Hank is playing his worst hockey and deserves to be benched. Stop blaming the team in front of him - it's the same team that is in front of Talbot.

lol the only rangers who dressed who didn't get a point were: Talbot, Hank, Stralman, Zucc, and Nash...of course

He didn't voluntarily square off with Phaneuf. He gave him a solid body check, Phaneuf slashed him and got in his face. He's not a little boy, he's bigger than Phaneuf and he held him off very effectively.
Don't want Kreider fighting (no matter the score)? Than say good bye to his physical game as well.

Cant make excuses for Hank. Talbot has had to deal with defensive breakdowns too and holds his own. one thing i love about talbot is hs rebound control and stick handling

This makes little sense. It is like saying that Hank Vezina was because of the Rangers D support. I know you would never agree to this fact though.
Kreider isnt a fighter. the point people are trying to make is that kreider showed no fear and didnt back down even though he has zero fighting experience

That fued between Kreider and Phaneuf had been brewing all game, because Kreider made a point of getting under his skin by hitting him. Maybe he said something too, and that would be icing with sprinkles on top.

If he doesn't defend himself then he probably gets decked like Boyle got decked by Carkner in the playoffs years ago. He tied up Phaneuf and no harm was done, good enough. Can't always skate away, and I'd honestly be more worried about Phaneuf head hunting him than a fight
He also has better reflexes than the King, while Hank relies on anticipation and positioning.
