That's not true and if that were the case, who replaced Stepan?

Please don't tell me Zbad because that experiment has failed miserably..
 
This year, Hayes has a similar shots against rate and better goals against rate than Stepan, with significantly harder usage than Stepan ever had here, and still managed to score more goals than Stepan ever had here, with a fraction of the powerplay time.

But Hayes is dumb and has a dumb face and probably blazes, so he can't be good at defense.

Speaking of "sniff", Hayes couldn't sniff Dsteps ass on his best day..

Although I've been especially hard on Hayes, I do very much appreciate how he has stepped up this year.
 
Shame Fischler's ceremony was in a half empty building before a meaningless game (or as meaningless as an Islanders-Rangers game could be)

Stepan, the whole package, is a very good player with net positive impact.

"Stepan the defensive player" has always been a narrative. At best, he took middling usage and his against rates have never been anything to write home about. Good penalty killer, average defensively at even strength.
 
I don't think there would be a better time for a Taveras hatty. I would like nothing better than a 6-5 Ranger loss. We really need to for the long time good.

With that said......Hayes pots a PPG. Oh well, yay Rangers!

He's been ELITE at shutting down the leagues top centers.
True story!

At some point you're going to have to look beyond the stat sites..Seriously

25 Goal Scorer while being thrust into a totally new role of defensive center.

Based. Hockey. God.
 
Kevin showing some really good hands. First he kept puck in zone with a swift stick then the eventual goal. Good on him!

Bingo. He's the slowest player on the team minus Staal. Vesey looks like he's doing the downhill on skis compared to him. Not good.
