Send Igor down to play if he’s going to just sit in the press box

Igor wants his paychecks and I don’t blame him. He’s got nothing to prove at the AHL level. Not a 20 year old kid. He’s a 24 year old all star at every level. He’s not going down if ever. He did his time. Up to management to figure this out.

This is why I'm against re-signing Strome, him and Fast whiff on so many opportunities Panarin hands them on a silver platter.
Honestly I haven’t seen them whiff many. Especially Strome. When Panarin sets him up he usually finishes. He’s not dynamic but he usually makes a good play when he has an opportunity’s. He’s the anti-Buch

Seems to me like there was an offer on the table for G or L but someone pulled out at the last second. Maybe L decided to not waive his NTC. Maybe the counterpart stopped being impressed with G. Maybe we got too greedy and the counterpart, puf off, canceled the negotiations. Who knows.

If we play our game they can't touch us . We are better in every department and the only way we lose is if we beat ourselves with bad penalties and stupidness . Our biggest problem all season has been being consistent whereas they have that going for them . When it comes down to talent....we OWN them . Go Rangers !!!!

I think it’s as simple as Shesterkin flat out dominating his last few starts gets named an all star hits the midway point and there may or may not have already been an understanding that if he proves he’s ready (which he did) he either comes up at the half way point or he heads back to Russia. Again he’s in the prime of his hockey career. He’s not a 20 year old rookie. Playing for 70k wasn’t going to last long when you show you’re way above the AHL

So so looking forward to tonight. I joked around on the other thread that there might be a line brawl tonight and tho that’s unlikely, I do anticipate a few fights and for it to be the most physical and intense game of the year.

Easily the most important game of the season for us and what’s awesome is our kids are going to get the experience of what it’s like when you play a team that you don’t like, playing in their barn which can get very loud due to the acoustics at the Coliseum and it feeling almost like a playoff atmosphere.

I’ll be very interested to see how we respond to the opening 4-5 minutes cause you just know the Philes are going to come at us in waves from the onset as they try and forget the curb stomping we gave them on Tuesday night...let’s get it on!!

Now c'mon... I know the Rangers have made some big strides recently and their offense is putting up numbers, but that statement is truly the hottest of takes. If you're that much better how come the Islanders are top three in the Metro while the Rangers are bottom three?

Your defense puts up good offense but it's not in the same league as the Islanders defensively. I would also argue that our Centers are a slight step above your own. Goaltending might even favor the Islander a bit but it's very close.

Isles won't let in six again. I hope we make it through the first five minutes without getting scored on.
You're really asking alot unfortunately.

Past few games in my haste to skip the pregame on the DVR I accidentally started the game a few minutes in and the Rangers of course were losiing by that point. Last Islanders game I was much better and skipped only until 19:27 or something like that and I thought 'ok good, at least it's still no scor.....wtf'

Why do I have the horrible feeling that the Rangers will go into this one with their butts in the air saying, "Yes, we beat you badly now it's your turn to win. We apologize for beating you in our building. Now have at us." ???? NOOOO PLEASE NOOOOO

The Isles are significantly better in the coaching department. I think the Rangers are even or better in most other areas.

I feel like Igor working with Allaire, Lundqvist, and an NHL defense on a regular basis is being understated

I agree- it's just that I'd like him to occasionally stop in Hartford for a game or two if he's going to have a break for a stretch, just like Georgiev used to do.

I'm fairly confident the vast majority of GM's in this league would take Barzal, Nelson and Cizikas over Mika, Strome and Chytil.

Pulock and / or Pelach (who is hurt) would instantly be the best defensively responsible blueliner on you team.

If it wasn't for the breadman this conversation wouldn't even be happening. Oh how jealous I am (not sarcasm).. what could have been had he joined the Islanders.

The real issue RangersTown has is with defending their own zone after possession is established by the opposition. All teams of course struggle with this, but our age really hampers us with who covers where, and we bleed shots. Sure, we get our own high danger chances the other way but if our goalie is not rock solid or better that day we tend to lose.

Which is why last game against the Isles was even stranger. Islanders had trouble establishing possession and then doing good stuff after, which has not really happened too often again the Rangers this year.

I want to see Igor again soon :(
They must be giving Georgiev these starts to try & up his trade value, right?

No, but from what I understand Georgiev was the 1st Rangers goalie to beat the Isles in quite a while...so he was always gonna get this start...and since there's another Isles game upcoming he'll get that start, too if he wins again today.
