Here’s the problem with the Rangers. And not just this year but years past.

You build a team around a bunch of primadonnas that prioritize lifestyle over hockey, then you pay them to the moon so they can maximize their lifestyle. You’ll get the results you see.

The one year in the last 80 years they won it. They imported tried and true, hardened leadership from the Oilers dynasty in Messier, Anderson, Lowe, MacTavish, Tikkanen to power themselves to a Cup.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. That team isn’t winning anything with a leadership core of Panarin and Trouba. Trouba is gone so at least they realize in part of some of the problem. Panarin can stay cause talent is always needed, but he cannot be the alpha on the team.
