Make everyone shave their sideburns.
They wont pay the price for BTThey will trade for Brady Tkachuk. The Rangers are shopping for a high impact player. Like how Mark Stone made Vegas that much better when they got him.
Trading Trouba and unloading his cap hit is a start.
Kreider, Othmann & Schneider for McAvoy.smoke - fire on Krieder and Trouba so make your move. Cuylle is ready to take Kreider's spot and you really get people's attention with a move like that. Trouba is addition by subtraction but I assume you bring Martini back and possibly get a D in the deal.
Othmann and Berard can take roles.
Top players are starting to age out of being top guys. The push from the younger pkayer for those top spots isn’t happening. Imo the club should have started a rebuild. But now with Shisterkin there for 8 more years he’s too good to rebuild around. Do I think they will be kind of stuck in that group of middle teams. 12-20. In the years they do make the playoffs, they will be round one exits.I wouldn't have just extended their goalie to a questionable contract, but that's just me.
The Rangers seem to be at the precipice of a potential rebuild. Even last year while obviously a good team, Shesterkin hid a lot of the warts of that team that the Panthers exposed come playoff time.
Yeah the Rangers seemed to be staring at a crossroads of "Rebuild" or "Keep the band together". I certainly understand their decision to go with the latter, but last year was probably their best chance to win it all and they couldn't muster a half-decent effort in front of their world class goalie.Top players are starting to age out of being top guys. Good points. Leafs did a painful rebuild and got great young players during it. Habs are still in their painful rebuild. They are collecting their next core of young guys.Yeah the Rangers seemed to be staring at a crossroads of "Rebuild" or "Keep the band together". Speaking of which, extending him until he's past his mid-30s certainly won't backfire. Drury won't be around long enough anyway so I doubt he cares, but Shesterkin put on an all world performance last year in the playoffs and it still wasn't enough to get the team to the promised land. Trading Shesterkin would've netted a pretty penny that could've really kickstarted a serious rebuild. Then again an original six team and one of the faces of the NHL waving the white flag isn't good for business. Boston has the same issue.
