Rangers have lost 15 out of their last 19 games. What would you do if you were Dolan (the owner of the team) or Drury (the GM)?

Game 3 of 2022 ECF was when the wheels feel off those last ten minutes, they'd have gotten swept by Colorado and fallen apart the same imo

Shesterkin probably deserved to be the highest paid goalie but his play since then has been quite shitty. 11.5M is a big hit to swallow, especially after the goalie market seemed to reset to a lower dollar number.

I don’t think he even deserved that. He didn’t crack top 10 in GSAx for 2 years running now. His overpay was based on his name value and the Sheshterkin hype train from years past. And yet he’s paid like the most elite goalie in the League, it makes no sense. Except that Russian players and Russian agents bend the league over backwards everytime it gets to the Negotiation table.

It’s strange what’s happening to the Rangers. They looked like they’d be one of the super powers of the east for many years and now have fell flat on their face and it looks like they might not recover anytime soon.

Not really. The Rangers apparently had a number of malcontents and instead of letting the inmates run the asylum, Drury and Dolan decided they would run them off instead. Yeah, it screws up this season but it may give them a better path next season without the entitled ones. My take anyway, your mileage may vary.

Lafreniere has been way worse since his extension too, weird stuff

It looks like the Rangers will be making a big offer for McDavid when he hits free agency next summer.

Just like how Drai was supposed to be a future Ranger as well, lmao. They're in no business to be dipping heavy into UFA

Didn't he do that originally with Edmonton at the time?

New York is an ideal market for a superstar in any sport because it is also a media center. More exposure, more endorsements, more money.
That’s a fallacy. The American market gives zero shits about hockey. Doesn’t matter if it’s a bigger market. I gaurantee Draisaitl has more promos, commercials and marketing dollars coming in than NYR stars Panerin or Sheshterkin.

I left McD out of equation as it wouldn’t be fair. He’s gets more commercials than any player in the League as it is, cause he’s the GOAT.

And no thats not what McDavid originally did as a drafted RFA.

Their GM hasn't talked about taxes and palm trees yet so no reason to panic yet.
No NYR doesn’t have that relevant excuse like Buffalo has. Which makes the NYR franchise history of management much sadder than Buffalo to be honest.

I'll say it again. It's a team full of players who (some more than others) screwed over their old clubs in some way so they can go chase whatever is so great about New York City. It is not a group who realizes you can pour your guts into it for 3 years, get to 2 ECFs, win a President's Trophy and all that hard work doesn't mean shit. That isn't to say they didn't work hard, play like champions and sacrifice. Their mistake was thinking this couldn't last more than a few years
For future reference those types of players are called primadonnas. And yes, you are correct, you ain’t winning shit with a team full of them.

There really is a special place in hockey hell for Chris Drury. From the moment we signed him as a free agent through the way he threw JD/Gorton under the bus to now. He's a piece of shit and an incompetent GM. He ruined this team. He somehow is worse as an exec here than he was as a player.

Can Seattle fans please chime in on how Kakko is being used, and how he's looked?

It’s rather enjoying watching NYC sports crash and burn. You’d think one of them would get it right.
The Mets, Yankees, Knicks, and Devils are all championship caliber teams.

Trade Kreider, Panarin, Trochek, Lindgren, Smith, Borgen and get rid of Zibanajed if possible, even with 50% retained. Clear as much cap space possible for McDavid and Kaprizov as UFAs in 2026.

They played a great game against the Panthers yesterday. Probably their best game in at least 4 to 6 weeks. They only lost because Igor was outplayed by Bob.

The rangers have the talent and ability to flip that switch. It's 2025 in a few more hours. They will be ready for the stretch drive. Laf will be the man again. Gave the cats all they can handle last night and easily could have blown them out of the water.
