Lil pro doing work while everyone is at juniors. So many pieces to like. We can’t play them all. Will be interesting to see who separates and what things look like in 3 years.

one touch from a corralled backhand to directly in the shooting position, doesn't shoot because he wants that tap in pass instead, and then another one touch off the backhand directly into the shot to score on the bounce. real smooth stuff

Do the Caps (or any NHL team) have a say in how signed prospects are traded around? Do they get consulted first or is it just the player does what happens in Juniors.
Regardless, his stock has soared so good to see a move. he’ll be a valuable piece.

(But I do wonder if Allen being a Caps prospect moved the needle at all with regards to London trading for him instead of Gibson.)
They do not. Usually in junior leagues if a player wants to be moved, most junior teams will accommodate. Most junior teams are not cut throat since they're dealing with teenagers and young adults. For example my local team just sent one of our best players to a division rival for practically nothing because he wanted to be closer to home. It sucks but it's the right thing to do for a kid. I guess from that perspective if the NHL organization thinks they're in a bad situation they could potentially relay that to the players representation be it their parent or agent that represents them and they could then ask for a change of scenery but I can't really recall any big stories confirming that with any of the Capitals prospects. I have heard of Import drafts being minorly influenced by NHL clubs who recently drafted a player from overseas. They want the foreign player to come to North America and can sometimes help them find a good situation where the junior team will then select them into the North American leauge under the pre-agreement they'll be coming over to play for them.

Ryabkin with two goals in his USHL debut. Will be real interesting whether he can salvage his draft stock in the second half after the move.

I'm glad he's waking up again. He hasn't been good recently and propably didn't take that snub too well. He did his job to earn a spot and didn't still get it. Not only that but he's now back with the Rockets who are without Price, Stancl and Rocak who are at the WJC and Iginla out with an injury. They were down basically all their other top guys other than Cristall and Playoffs chances took a big hit there.
Nice to see him back on track.
Maybe he falls somewhere in the lap of a team that likes Russian prospects in the back half of the first round.

I assume Kelowna will move him for a haul to try to go all in next year as Memorial Cup hosts?

I assume so. The rumors have him going to Lethbridge, but Bill Peters is the coach there, so I'm hoping for anywhere else.

Makes just too much sense for them. Especially after that Iginla -injury.

1+2 last night for Chesley in a win. Up to 15 points in 22 games minus PP time reportedly. Tied for second nationwide in +/-. Seems to be nearing readiness to make the pro jump.
Would be awesome to see him jump. Right side of Hershey next year would include Chesley and Allen. Assume Bear is out and Iorio to 4RD in Washington (not waivers exempt). Maybe they sign McIlrath again for Hershey. Or Priskie.

I hope Chesley signs this summer but I do have a feeling that he's going to go college UFA route (based off of absolutely nothing). If he does though, Hershey/Washington will absolutely sign a top vet for the right side. Zero chance they go into the season expecting two rookies to be the 1 and 2 RD.
Well JC74 will be 1RD next year (and I suspect he’ll extend for two more after that). Then Roy will be 2RD. TVR 3RD (one more year left and i don’t think they’ll move him). Iorio 4RD as he is not waivers exempt so he stays over McIlrath. So McIlrath would be in Hershey and Chesley and Allen will be 2RD and 3RD in Hershey.
