This is a storied franchise on a losing streak.. no one serious is considering Sean Avery to be the GM in 2024.

I feel like Drury's not going anywhere. Jimmy Dolan doesn't go thru GMs often and he only hires people he's known for a long time. He's not the type to like, you know, interview a bunch of qualified candidates and then hire the best fit.

He's only replacing Drury with someone that's been known in some capacity to the organization for a long time. And no one really exists right now that fits that bill.

I mean when you look back at the situation the fact that Drury wanted to blow it up after losing 2 games in a row in a west road trip looks insane. My theory is that is created a huge distraction in the room and the Trouba trade made it worse.

And yet he was still getting 20 minutes a game for the Rangers and they traded him away for cap space that they've done nothing with so far. Doesn't look like whoever took his minutes is faring any better.
