It looks like he needs a shot of confidence more than anything and i'm sure this injury and Cronin aren't helping. Right now, it looks like he's under duress a lot. Seems like he's always under pressure and is just looking to move the puck out of harm's way. Not seeing him really dictate the play, carry the puck up the ice much and playing that assertive style like he did last year.

I'm actually not super concerned yet because i truly believe he is very skilled, hopefully they can find a way to get him back into form. It's definitely not all on Minty. This is similar to Zegs in that you have a skilled offensive-minded player that is barely generating anything - the coaches have to find a way to get these guys producing.

I was a few rows up from the ice in the Caps end so I had a good view of the 6th goal. Strome was super f***ing pissed and yelling at Minty who f***ed that play up. You can kind of see it on the TV replay. I don't blame him.

Bottom line. Team is ready to take another step but with this coach it's not going to happen. Biggest issue this year has been special teams f*** up. We hired a new guy for it and still f***ed it up.. something is rotten in the coaching dept. Need overhauled

One person is in charge of hiring the head coach, PP coach, and PK coach. Sure, Cronin may have connections with them, but it's ultimately up to Verbeek to say who he hires or not hire.
 
At 5v5, the possession chart all point to the Caps in a huge way despite being equal at FO's and the advantage on PP opportunities in the game. Dostal kept us in the game until the third period and it all collapsed when it counted most. Afterwards, we were just swimming in quick sand. At least it was an entertaining loss.

Liking Mctavish’s confidence in the offensive zone. Seems very hungry to get to pucks.

That’s about the only positive I got outta this one for the ducks. Rough defensive day for the boys in orange.
