He was shackled to Gionta for 5 years. Playing with good wingers must be a breath of fresh air.

Gionta is seriously a 20-25 point type player that Plekanec was able to scratch some extra points out of. It's disgusting how overplayed Gionta was here.

I'm happy Bergevin turned him down, but the fact that he even offered a contract scares me due to Therrien's use of him. People complain about some other players roles, but no one was used worse than Gionta last year.

He's off to a great start this year though... 8 games, 1 assist, -5.

The period started off strong but tailed off a bit towards the end. Galchenyuk/PP/ Plecky are solid its nice to have a solid 1-2 punch with DD's line as well. At this point Sekac has to come in for Weise. That third line is inept offensively.
