Not when it's your own guy, and a screen from several feet out can actually be harder to deal with than guy standing in your crease because you can't look around it and battle to see the puck.

Georgiev was awful that period. I don't know how anyone could argue against that. Good goalies stop those shots. Simple as that. Those were stoppable shots and Geo didn't stop either of them. First one he gets a pass on, obviously.

hard to throw out the personnel mid rebuild when it's much easier to make the coaches adjust or try a new coaching staff. Gorton has to be applied here. No way he watches this team crash and burn defensively and not figuring it out at all and do nothing.

The Rangers defensive group is not good in any way but I have been saying for years that our forwards have routinely been horrible defensively. Absolutely zero tenacity on the backcheck.

I agree. Trap if you have to. They want to keep living on the edge with these wide open track meets where stopping opponents in the neutral zone is a foreign concept. Gap control is terrible and they're all standing around below the circles.

Shattenkirk didn't become better on the Lightning. He was our best defender by every metric last year.

They're just not making him be their best defender.
