Should we be more upset that we forced to buy some sort of fan pack with my seats whereas now you *receive* a $50 gift card, or that I just did a search on ticketmaster, and the seats available are better than the selection we (or at least I) had when purchasing?

I know that I voluntarily forked over the money, and tickets will go as the market dictates, but something seems unfair about this.

I'm upset that we have to buy both games and pay $30 more for each ticket to get the hat. I think we get one hat for each ticket to both games so minus the TM fees that would mean about $50 for the hat. Do u think we can get that on eBay? Doubt it

We get a hat and scarf for each ticket. $50 total so $25 for each ticket.

Even Philly. I turned down my seats. Wasn't paying $200 each to sit in the lower deck and have to watch the game on the jumbro-tron.

I declined Winter Classic tickets in Philly, too as well. The trip after everything factored in was just not worth it, imo. Considering how the game ended, sure, I made a bone-head move -- I would have seen an awesome game. Howvever, I still wasn't going to shell out that kind of dough for the privilege of being tolled by four difference agencies, pay for gas, and need to worry about getting vomited on, or worse, finding charred remains of my car in the parking lot b/c it has NY plates on it. It didn't feel right, and I do not judge anyone for not shelling out that kind of money.

Honestly, I do not think the name of the game has any bearing. We were never going to get a Rangers-Isles or Rangers-Devils "winter classic". NBC has said they want two separate large markets.

TV aside, the Rangers will never be the host for a Winter Classic. That would be a regular season home game outside of Madison Sq Garden, and the City would use that event as a breach of contract to take away the Garden's property tax reduction and Con Ed subsidies. Never gonna happen, sad to write.

Secondly, how many Rangers, Isles, Devils fans would make the trip to Ann Arbor for the Wings-Leafs game if we weren't having these outdoor games? Not too many. Likewise, how many Wings, Leafs, Pens, BHawks, Kings, or Ducks fans would be coming here if they weren't involved in their own outdoor games? Not too many I would think.

Slim to none.

Cheers!
-Doug

considering the games have not even sold out on ticketdisaster, why would you pay premiums on stubhub?

And there are GOOD CHEAP (relatively) seats available from TicketBa$tard. A cursory check today revealed that tickets vs. the Isles were available in 420C, Row 2. Yes. Row 2.

And they were pumping out Row 14's during the pre-sales...

Even Philly. I turned down my seats. Wasn't paying $200 each to sit in the lower deck and have to watch the game on the jumbro-tron. But yeah, I understand your point. When they played in Philly, it seemed like it would be quite a while before they were in an outdoor game again. I think it is great that they are expanding the outdoor games, but they then need to lower prices. If they set the prices similar to say Giants regular season (85 and up) the place would have sold out and they still would have made a nice chunk of change.

I live out in Suffolk County and I went with my daughter via Lirr to Amtrak to Philly Transit to the Winter Classic and it was a day I will never forget. I had a great experience. I cant wait for the outdoor games at Yankee Stadium. For me the experience alone is worth the price. It will also be my first time at Yankee Stadium.

Those slow Stadium Series tix sales/expensive prices? NHL now offering $50 gift card with tix purchase. Not good.

NHL release: only the Devils have tix left for NYR-NJD at Yankee Stadium. Plenty tix remain for NYI and Dodger Stadium games.

NHL.com has banner to click on for the $50 gift card.

I heard Bill Daly say he wasn't sure if there would be 6 outdoor games again next season.

Public tickets for the NJD/NYR Outdoor Gm@ Yankee Stadium is sold out! Limited tix remaining at 1-800-NJ-DEVIL

I emailed my rep yesterday, and received the standard, "F off with a smile response." She informed me that they are only offering the gift card for the Isles game, not for both AND the scarf kit was only $25 per seat, not $50. I originally thought it was $50 per seat.

I responded, albeit after-hours, that it is just a slap in the face. We were not given the option to just buy 1 game, were not given the option to buy the scarf and ticket lanyard, we were told we had to, and now non-STH are getting a giftcard to buy tickets. Also went and checked the site and I can get a lower row at the same price point than what I received.

For what it's worth, I bought Grandstand tickets in 400 OF area as a STH from the Rangers and they cost me $175 a piece with the hat/scarf/shipping etc.
I went into TM now, and those same seats are $198 to purchase.
They raise prices $25 per ticket and then throw in $50 gift card. It's a win for NHL., At worst, it's a wash with chance that you spend more than the $50 at NHL.com.

I emailed my rep complaining about the fact that the general public gets better deals for tickets. I really hate to complain, but I find this whole thing completely unacceptable. We are supposed to be getting the best deals on tickets, not the worst.

anyone know when we should be receiving our tickets?

Would like to know this as well. I thought I heard December 10th somewhere.

Also regarding the hat/scarf. I wasn't given the option to pay additional for these during checkout. I ordered my tickets during a pre-sale email I received months back. I bought the pack for both games. I thought it said they would be available for an additional charge but I was never given the option during checkout or is it built into my ticket prices?

I'm wondering if I was a fool buying these seats the day they went on sale for Isles game. I mean, now with the Rangers play, heh 200 bucks is a rip and have considered if I might recop most of the cost in a resale.

If the product continues to suck I can't blame fans for staying away.

I see through ticketmaster when they say they will be delivered (the 18th). How about if we ordered through the Rangers? Any word yet?
