I know the face of those, $229 each and if these tickets were selling like hotcakes, they wouldn't be having a public onsale. The tickets for these games are very overpriced, and the secondary market has not been strong.

Almost 8,700 tickets for NYI game on Stubhub, before the public onsale, is not a good sign for demand.

That conclusion isn't correct, since people don't want to spend that much so they're waiting for the public sale. If there's nothing available in that sale then they'll start buying from the secondary market

I think that it indicates a lot of people bought extra tickets for flipping. Maybe it is more of a supply issue than a demand issue, but I don't think people will be making a lot of money on this game. The high face value doesn't help, either.

The NHL is also diluting the market having 2 out door games.

Don't think these tickets will sell as good as people think either.

Maybe I can score a pretty decently priced pair as we get closer to the date, if the market drops.

Checked out a few seats on the ticketmaster presale page....unless you wanna spend well over $250 per seat, you're not finding anything. I'm assuming only the same seats will be available tomorrow.

Don't why everyone here is so surprised by the price considering normal ranger ticket prices these really aren't that bad considering. This is a big deal and with that comes a big price tag. And yes the demand for tickets are there u won't find any good seats for less than retail. Good luck to those in the 400 level seating should be fun in 0 to 10 degree weather with the wind.

But, not at the prices people are asking on stubhub. I think these games are similar to the situation with Yankees tickets when they first opened the new stadium. Prices were set high and people bought plans at the inflated prices with the intention of selling some for profit to lower their cost of attending. Great idea if 10 people go with that strategy, lousy idea if 1000s of people go with that strategy. As a result, Yankees tickets could be found on stubhub for very cheap. My brother in law twice got tickets for games against the Red Sox for $20 each the first 2 years. Since they made us buy the two games, most people went in thinking they would sell one for close to double and go for cheaper than the face. Not working out for most people.

I don't think they would be having a public onsale if they only had 100 tickets still unsold. I bought my original allocation of 2 tickets. When I was offered the extra 4 tickets, I almost went through my entire Rangers fan rolodex to find people interested, and I was offering the tickets to them at cost. People just aren't interested in paying those prices.

0 to 10? How often does it get that cold here? You live in NYC, not Quebec City.

I dont think the two games are the issue. Think it is more about the price. If they sold the upper deck seats for $80-120 and the middle for about $150-250, and 60-100 for field level and bleachers, the tickets would have sold so fast they wouldn't be having a public onsale. What these teams fail to understand, is they can't have every chip in the casino. Yes, at those prices, the scalper would have made some money, but so would the league. By setting the pricing to the point where their no profit room left for the scalpers, you drive out a big chunk of the demand.

Rangers STHs didn't have a choice of if they wanted to buy more than they needed, they HAD to buy both games, and the vast majority could not justify the expense for both so one of them is going to be put up for sale and the Islanders game for the most part is it.

There are 100,000+ seats in Yankee Stadium for both games, and probably an average of 10,000-12,000 season ticket accounts per NHL team. It was pretty clear from the beginning there would be a lot left over for Yankee STHs and a general public sale

There is a possbility (not probability) that the Super Bowl being in town could help last minute demand for the Islander game. Many of the people who will be in town that week don't know they will be here yet since it will depend on which teams make it. If the weather forecast that week is good, there could be quite a bit of activity between Jan 19th and the game.

Hey guys, few questions:

1) I am looking for tickets, under 250. A pair, for the Isles game. PM me.

2) Since I am looking at second hand market, if I buy will I still get the memorabilia/paraphanilia first tickets holders got?

Not sure how you ever made out, but I have two pairs available..
Sect 407A row 10 - $200 each
Sect 237 Row 4 - $150 each.
I have no problem including whatever the package of stuff they send with the tickets is (Hat, scarf, etc).

PM if interested

I'll be watching from my warm living room while drinking wine and eating a chicken parm dinner.

So sorry, NHL.

I got through on Ticketmaster!

I got a pair of seats to the Islanders game:

Section 113, row 28 for $198 pre fees ($207 total) each.

Did I get a good deal?
Are these seats viewable?
Should I have held out longer?

How does this compare to 234 or 237?

1st point, I agree. However, I do know STHs who didn't even bother because of the prices.

Disagree on the 2nd point. Considering Isles fans from the get-go were allowed to buy 3 or 4x the number of seats, same for the Devils. Rangers STH were eventually allowed to buy more. Plus, they sold to the mini-plan holders, and weren't Knicks STH given the chance as well? They did everything they could to avoid a public onsale. If the demand for the games, actually the quantity demanded at those prices was as high as the NHL believed, everyone would have been buying their max allocation.

I don't know. Field level is going to be awfully hard to see, especially when the play is in the other end. At least it is row 28, so it will be a little higher than the bottom of the section.

Do the Rangers shoot twice on the first base side or the third base side? Is it the same for each game? Appreciate if anyone has any info on this, thanks!

They are ok. I sat lower level for the Winter classic in Philly. Had about the 28th row where your seats are. It may be tough to see the near end, but it was still great and you were in the building.

I do think however $207 each for those is a lot and that isn't even through the secondary market.

Well I just got 2 tickets for the Devils game on the public sale. Originally it gave me section 230, but I wanted to see if I could get something else. Then it hung there for 5-7 minutes and I was having a full panic attack thinking that I shouldnt have given up those tickets and I was now going to miss out on the game.

But after the wait I was offered 2 tickets in 221B the Delta Sky Suite I think its called. It wasn't my intention to get the $349 seats, but it should be a nice experience. Anyone sit in this suite before? I have never been to Yankee Stadium and was curious how the view was.

I can't afford anything with a view. Lol
