Richards, Kreider and Stepan were the only forwards with more ice time than Taylor Pyatt. Seriously, there is something wrong here. AV is putting him out there like he's Callahan and can play in all situations. You guys thought Torts loved Boyle? Pyatt must've saved AV's entire family from a burning building or something because in his eyes, apparently, Pyatt can do no wrong and is our most effective all around forward.

am i the only person seriously disturbed by the lack of heart shown by this team? It's pretty sad that these guys have kicked out a coach that got them playing a game at their highest level, and then just flat out no-show the entire season thus far.

Pretty sickening to be honest....this is right up there with the decade of despair Rangers teams we've had to suffer through.

Miller, Brassard, Fast. Anyone of those 3 over Pyatt.

Why?

Brassard has been between invisible and flat out god-awful all season long.

he was great in the preseason, then decided to hibernate for the winter.

he should be benched in all honesty.

Miller? He really didn't do anything today, nor did Fasth.

Pyatt controlled the puck, got shots on goal, and played the boards pretty well.

Frankly, he was one of our better players.

Did anyone else notice how much better the team looked without Pouliot in the lineup? Kreider was consistently one of the most effective players on the ice. He used his speed the right way and when he got the puck he made very quick decisions. He came close to scoring several times. Talbot and Girardi had strong games, as did the Moores. I can live with Pyatt playing on the team, once you remove Pouliot. Brassard and Pouliot cannot share the ice together. They are a defensive nightmare. It's almost like they encourage each other to be stupid with the puck.

Miller and Kreider looked decent tonight...might be because they were a couple of only a few players who are playing like they care right now. Richards had a good game an Girardi as well.

Where the hell is Stepan?

Can't believe I drove to Philly to see this one. Talbot played well IMO, penalty kill was solid although I hate the diamond formation. The top line was our best line, everyone else was very meh. The defense coughed up way too many pucks, whether it be in their own zone or in the offensive zone. Rangers carried the majority of the play IMO, just couldn't score. Maybe having our 3 guys in we coulda walked away with at least a point but even healthy our team stinks offensively

I thought they looked like a team that was missing a couple guys that make their offense go. That's an improvement over looking like a team that had never been on the ice before. I really don't think this loss was a matter of heart or will or anything like that. They tried, they played sound defensively most of the game, they couldn't score - thats to be expected when missing half of a top 6.

Sounds like I shouldn't be too upset that I had to work tonight.

Missing training camp didn't hurt him a bit. :sarcasm:

That is versus the worst team in the NHL right now with Steve Mason in net. Keep that in mind.

I was very encouraged by Kreiders play. For the first time in a very long time he didn't look lost. He played his game and got opportunities. I hope he continues this play as that might be the most important thing out of all of this.

An effective Kreider with a healthy Nash, Callahan, Hagelin and Lundqvist should make this a dangerous team. I just hope Stepan is just on his historical slow start to the season. If not that is a whole other can of worms.

he keeps saying better effort, better effort...I guess, technically speaking he is correct, a giant turd is better than a giant flaming turd.

Doesnt mean you should be proud of it.

I hope all the Torts haters are enjoying this, this is what you asked for.

Was probably the biggest Torts critic here. But definitely not a fan of AV and stated this before the season as well after haven spoken to 2 players that played under him. Canning Torts was the right thing for this team to do to getting a team that could go all the way. Hiring AV was a mistake. Period. It all falls on Slats. Just like dismantling a Torts team was last year.
Just because you solve the cure for cancer for a sick patient does not mean you have to accept it getting Ebola instead. What you are saying is pretty short sighted in retrospect. If you are not with me you are against me. Two choices. Reminds me of politics. Yuck.

I'm optimistic and not saying this team is done already as it's still early, but I still said Sather should have game a good 10-20 games before making a change.

I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can.

Talbot looked great, honestly. Much better than hank has. for like 1/100th the price. To the person who said the metal made saves for him, its still better than giving up 4 to the devils on 20 shots.

No one talking about the miller "kick in" making this game 2-2. Mason robbed Pouliot with a glove save. Lots of PK time with that stupid boarding call as well.

Mashinter popping off Simmond's helmet with a SHORYUKEN! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=eyxf1voyfCs#t=42) obviously no one carres about being physical.

McDonagh had a really stellar performance on the penalty kill.

Lets wait for our top 6 to get back.

Count me in on the doom side now.

This is sickening.

I don't even care tkat they lost anymore. I don't care about the games really, I was at work all night and I came home to rewatch it. I just don't even care, great, another loss, whatever.

Brass and Steps had another blah game...

Kreider with a Huge hit to McD..

CAM with a great game, happy for him..

That's about it..

Obviously I saw this coming but I think it's one thing for fans to not see this coming even though it was clearly foreseeable if you knew what you were looking at, but the fact that the organization didn't see it coming isn't good for the future.

Never should have traded for Nash. Never should have broken up the homegrown rangers. Never should have fired Torts.

Gimme a damn break with your bs. You saw it coming blah blah blah. I find a hard time believing you saw injuries to Nash, Callahan, and Lundqvist coupled with Cally and Hagelin having to rehab from off season surgery.

Its one thing to be frustrated with this start, its another thing to ignore the facts and simply blame AV, a basis for you to claim your superior intelligence...

Hope you enjoy your Andy Warhol limelight moment John, Kel or whatever your name is. A storm is a brewing, change is coming and no more looking back

Best thing is Richards is playing well...

So if we're sellers at the deadline we can trade him.

Richards is not tradable due to the cap recapture. The guy they should be aggressively trying to move is Nash.

Hopefully Talbot can keep it up.

If Richards can keep this play up, there's no reason to move him...

Nash needs to go if he's going to continue to incur concussion issues... we have $20M in players injured right now... Thats bad

Four friggin days to practice and they score 1 goal which was a gift from Mason!

Anyone still think it's the system? Oh yeah we moved onto the injury excuse now.

No no no, don't you go there inferno.

You know exactly that this is what all Torts "haters" where saying. That it would take quite some time to fix the mess he was creating, ie right a team that had zero transition game in a NHL where all better teams went in the complete opposite direction.

If there is one instance I hate to be right, it is this.

Obviously I saw this coming but I think it's one thing for fans to not see this coming even though it was clearly foreseeable if you knew what you were looking at, but the fact that the organization didn't see it coming isn't good for the future.

Kel you are making a fool of yourself. This is a team built by Torts for the last 3.5 years with his players on it, and they are looking like ****. They looked like **** last year when he was behind the bench and would have missed the PO's if it wasn't for Hank and Nash (we got in by two pts or what?).

Undoubtedly, if we had Torts behind the bench today we would look slightly better today, but in light of what you are seing right now when we are aiming just a tad higher, you cannot seriously argue that we where heading in the right direction under Torts lol.

Torts left out some key elements in the game in the NHL in 2013 for 3.5 years, that is what we are seeing results of today.
