Kreider should be better by now. Maybe Buch is back (useless terrible Buch, whom I strangely miss). I am good with a split. Flyers are tough.

Georgiev starting tonight is Quinn saying Lundqvist doesnt belong in this league. He is more than a marginal back up at this point in his career. He could still be a starter on plenty of teams.

Lundqvist could have gotten this start. He is going to ride Georgiev until Shesterkin gets back and let Henrik ride the bench the rest of the year. He can start on a back to back. I'm not a fan of this choice.

Henrik hasnt had a chance to consistently start for super Rangers. He was relegated to starts in the first 3 months of the season where the team was bottom-3 in every category.

There is a reason Georgiev went from a .907 to .914 recently and it has to do with the team in front of him. Henrik wasnt given a fair shake IMO.

You ride the hot hand until you are given the option to do something different.

Geo has been better than Hank and has been really strong when called upon this month. If there was a time to get Hank in it would have been today, but the dude hasn't started in almost a month.

All those cards were on the table when Shesterkin had the ankle injury and Georgiev started 3 in 4 nights. Two more weeks of dust building up on Lundqvist makes it even more likely he's not getting this one.

But again, that's to no fault of his own. He cannot control not getting any starts. If he is still practicing with the team and working with the goaltending coach, he should be able to start a back to back.

Georgiev could let up 9 goals tonight, and I'd almost guarantee Quinn would go with Georgiev the next game.

Georgiev and Shesterkin are getting starts in front of a completely different team [and I'm not downplaying Shesterkin who has clearly looked better than both through any stretch this season].

Lundqvist and Georgiev literally had identical stats through the first 40 games of the season, all of a sudden "Georgiev is better" because he is getting more starts in front of a team that is playing competitive hockey?

The first half of the season did not show Georgiev was any better. They had identical stats and he had a lower quality of competition. Now he climbs up to a .914 playing in front of a different team, and he is clearly superior in Quinns eyes. To me, that's not fair.

Yeah. It is just the situation that Quinn wants to play it safe. Don't change what works etc. But I would give Lundqvist a change though. He is still great. Rangers defense was a complete mess earlier in the season.
