Parsinnen is still very young. He's only 24. If we put things in perspective, he had 16 points in 48 games in a year where he played on 3 different teams for an average ice time of ~10:32. In those 86 games, he had 86 hits.
If we had reached the point in the summer where we all started doing deep dives in to guys who could take that next step for relatively low risk/cost, Parsinnen would actually be a good candidate. He's young enough to develop. He plays center. He is decently physical and he produced in the games he played in. Just extrapolating out, assuming the same TOI as he had this year, which was VERY low @ 10:32 per game to 82 games played:
27 points
146 hits
49 blocks
24 years old
center
He has 4 points in 5 games I believe at the World Championship for Team Finland.
Could Drury and Sullivan look at him as the teams 3C next year?
If everything was linear, increasing his minutes per game to 13 minutes over 10 1/2 minutes would have taken his point totals to 20 points in 48 games. Extrapolating that to 82 games has him at 34 points over 82 games.
That's with no improvement taken into account with linemates, deployment, not playing between 3 different teams, playing wing and center, etc.
Based on what I'm seeing, I truly think that if they just this kid play center for a season, they could find themselves a nice 30-40 point 24 year old center.
