Waiving Hunt and THEN trading Reaves was low key pretty bad from Drury.

And keeping Sammy over both! Drury holding on to Blais makes less sense than the original trade. This team needs to be able to add salary at the deadline. Hopefully signing Leschyshcyshn means they dump him soon.

Sunk cost fallacy at this point, I'd guess.

Just doesn't want to admit the error. It's like Hajek as well.

This guy seems like just a godawful hockey player. I'm not seeing the point of making a waiver claim instead of giving Rydahl a look
Or Trivigno.

Looked up Jake's stats and thought for a second he was a defenseman based on that and last name. Woops.
Probably wouldn't even still be playing hockey except for that last name. Game is funny about players' kids sometimes.

So we let a high risk, but high upside kid in a dire position of need in Eeli Tolvanen slide to Seattle, but pick up this bum?

I really don't get this team sometimes.
Was Seattle below us then? If so, that's bad. I had assumed he didn't get to the rangers slot.

Wow. That's very poor. I remember there was some talk about not being able to fit in tolvanen's salary. But, was that valid? If not, that's just so bad.

They had the space, Reaves was traded around Thanksgiving, Tolvanen was claimed on the 12th of December.

I'm guessing that Seattle had to have had higher waiver priority. But I'm also not surprised if the Rangers straight up passed up on Tolv. I'm a fan of his one timer from the right circle.

His one timer from the right circle would be irrelevant here because he wouldn't have that role.

Does Tolvanen play center and kill penalties? No? Then what does he have to do with Leschyshyn? I understand Tolvanen has "higher upside" or whatever but Vince laid out exactly why they wanted Leschyshyn, which was to try out at 4C and on the PK.

Leschyshyn also doesn't have a cap hit of $1.45M.

Doesn’t Seattle have waiver priority? In essence Tolvanen was never making it to the Rangers anyway.
Folks saying Seattle was already ahead of NYR then
I cant say
As of today, they are +13, NYR +12

After December 11th, the Rangers had 33 points in 29 games, Seattle had 35 points in 27 games.

The Rangers had the priority if they wanted him.
