The hype around him was ridiculous, he was a 2nd round pick after all.

So what? The guy has reinvented himself. He's a solid penalty killing 4th liner who has a scoring touch. If he makes the team he'll make league minimum. Turned down easier paths because he wants to be here. I take Vesey all day over Hunt.

Yet them waiving Carpenter and Hunt to do so seems unlikely.
