I find the hate for Vesey to be ridiculous. The kid didn't create the hype himself, he didn't ask for celebrities to get hired to do pitches on the Rangers behalf.

He still had a couple decent season when the Rangers were garbage and had Grabner and Hayes at the top of team scoring.

He's not here this time to be anything other than a 4th line contributor and kill penalties. And he already looks better than most of the players we've had on the 4th line in recent years.

I dont hate the guy. Hes a serviceable 4th liner but im just worried of the inevitable. He’s going to be GG’s new love. Might even get PP time...

The hype around him was ridiculous, he was a 2nd round pick after all.

Who is going to get walked more? Aaron Judge the rest of the year or the Flyers defence corp in 2022-23?

The funny part about a PTO is that you may earn yourself a job, but I am pretty sure any team can offer you a contract. Vesey might play his way into a situation where a different team actually offers him more than what we do and he signs somewhere else.

He’s honestly a perfect fit for a full time 4th line role on this team, with spot play higher in the lineup when needed.

The worry is Gallant does what Gallant has done at every coaching stop he’s had - takes a prototypical 4th liner and tries to turn them into a top 6 player.
Name names .

Vesey is a good player to have sitting on your 4th line to start the season. In an idea world, he plays 7-8 minutes of even strength hockey and 2-3 minutes of PK time a game. He’s also versatile enough that should an injury occur, he could competently move up for a short time and fill a gap on the 3rd line with a bit more playing time.

I can see the Bruins signing him given their lack of offense and him being from MA
