I'm not viewing 2nds, 3rd and 4th rounders as actually players that will become something. I am viewing them as bullets for future years to make deals like the ones we have made. We are running short on artillery. Kane and Tarasenko better produce.

ugh. So Kravtsov WAS thrown away. Geez, I thought we'd get cap coverage from VAN. I definitely do not like the extra 3rd getting thrown in. I had the original outbound package as a 2nd, Kravtsov, and a 4th for cap. Kravtsov is thrown away and the 2nd is conditional. extra 3rd. well, let's just be happy we got Kane.

Not gonna complain anymore. Just happy we didn't lose Berard/Cuylle/Sykora/Robertson/Garand

A third round pick in 25?

I mean in the end, f*** 'em picks and 3rd is a whatever, but still...

Drury had no leverage as far as finding a 3rd party went. Far less than the Hawks did with Kane even. Im not surprised it's more than we thought.

The Sharks traded a 3rd for the rights to a college player that might not sign anyway. Put that in perspective.

So it's basically...

- Kravtsov
- Conditional 2nd in 2023 (or 1st in 2024 or 2025)
- 3rd in 2025
- 4th in 2023

for

- Kane
- Lockwood
- 7th in 2026

I didnt want Kane because I thought he would be too costly.

Im not thrilled with the second condition, but any team in the mix would take this deal and run with it.

This is not only one of the most exciting moves the Rangers have made in recent memory, but everything leading up to it the entire year and especially the last week or two with the Cap was a lot of fun (and draining) to discuss with everyone here.

Now how it will translate to the ice is another story. Its worth the risk. This move significantly deepens the forward group. We all know this isnt 2013 Kane we are getting, but I think for me, what made me most excited and amped was this moment last week:

That showed me all I needed to see to get on board. He's got everything in that clip, speed, shot, decisiveness and the cockiness and swagger this Rangers team needs. That was an absolute f***ing rocket of a shot and showtime that ensued. Doesnt matter to me that it didnt count. A motivated Patrick Kane can do wonders for this team.

Welcome aboard Kaner

Lets Go Rangers

frankly if i’m being totally honest the Tarasenko deal has more annoying things about it than the Kane one lol

Why? I still trade a first and spare parts for Tarasenko AND Mikkola 10 out of 10 times. Look what rentals are going for throughout the league. We got more bang for our buck than anyone.

I'd rather move the picks later than the ones now if you're going to move them at all.

There are plenty of guys on the roster now who are going to be moved along the way to recoup some (if not most) of whats been lost. Drury basically restocked his picks from what he used at the deadline last year (minus the 1st that triggered for Copp) with the Georgiev trade. As much as people don't want to hear it, Lindgren isn't going to be here beyond next season at the very latest. The Likes of Kreider and Trouba probably don't finish out their contracts here either.

Horrible. Even Larry Brooks mentioned this. You would think a team we just gifted 2 2nds to would cut us a break. Nope we gave them another great deal
