Wow, Suwinski swings at 2 fastballs nowhere near the zone to turn a 2-1 count into a k.

I know he doesn't hit lefties but how are you getting fooled by fasballs 6 inches above the dirt?

It was definitely Neal Huntington who told him not to go to Driveline, dude.

Andy and Ben are fixing it but they had no idea how bad it was!

Watching Ohtani. Dude is masterful right now. Velo, 88, 86, 85, and they can't hit him. Spots his pitches, and changes things up constantly. They said he throws 6 pitches. And when he wants the heat, he hits 100 effortlessly. Only him and Babe Ruth with over 100 homers and 400k's.

Sad part for Angels fans is their horrible record, despite having 2 of the best players on the planet, in Shohei and Trout. But what entertainment they provide.

Wait, I was told he’s established himself as an everyday major league corner OF. Weird.

They are 11-33 since July 12. I bet there aren’t 5 other teams who’ve had a .250 winning percentage over a 44 game stretch this century. It’s really hard to do.

Cruz's easy left center power.

On the plus side, Nick Gonzales went 3-3 w/a BB and HBP today. He's been absolutely tearing it up since returning last month which is a huge plus.

Since coming back:

67AB (83 PA)
22H
.328/.458/.552/1.010
9 2B
2 HR
13 BB (15.7%)
17 K (20.5%)

OPS on the year now sits at .823

This team has the loser stench, and BC/DS have provided the loser vibes

I felt bad for ripping VanMeter on a day he got two rbi's on what was honestly a lucky-ass double but that ab in 9th justified my criticism of Shelton.

And Newman drove me crazy. 2 guys on against a closer who has been untouchable lately and you just stare at a horrible cement mixer slider on the first pitch. Then, he chases 2 great sliders later in the ab.

Horrible.

Tbh I hate this whole team and organization, and following them is a bad habit at this point. I wish they would move so I had license to stop caring.

Great news that Chandler is back on the mound tonight. Seems like he dodged any kind of injury obviously, and picking up where he left off. 5 Ks through 3 IP with a solo HR allowed (Clearwater games are not televised). Haven't seen any reports about the velocity but keeping an eye out.

Nunez hits some real beauties. Love the look of those hard high fly balls.
Yeah, he's definitely sort of changed the script of what some people were saying about his power being heavily dependent on the St. Louis AA park. Altoona isn't really a hitter friendly park. The profile is obviously 1B/DH only, but he has the kind of walk and K numbers to make it work. It'll be interesting to follow him in AAA next year.

Endy just hit another double, and it hit the top of the wall with some kind of weird bounce. Looked like a HR live.

The AL MVP debate is so interesting this year.

I think Judge gets it just because his season is so historical. That being said, I think you could reasonably argue that Ohtani has been slightly more valuable even though this year has not been quite what it was last year statistically.

Ultimately with the players so close, you have to award it based on team record.

If Ohtani played for the Dodgers, Mets, Cubs, or Yankees you’d probably hate his face from seeing it so much. The fact he’s buried in that other LA-but-not-LA team with an identity crisis kind of makes it more enjoyable to watch him be the best baseball player in 100 years
