OT - NO POLITICS Rainy Weekends Always Get Me Down edition

Definitely been sketchy in this area the past week or so. I've have been spared (knocks on wood) here in northern KY for the most part.
Looks like this particular storm is going to pass just south of me, but it's spitting out huge hail.

Another line supposed to come through a little later

Glad you haven't seen any damage, Kentucky sure got clobbered :(

Just filled the new gas can, preparing to use the new mower for the first time today. A little nervous, as I'm used to just a ghetto and basic push mower.

Also, when did gas cans become brain teasers? I just wanna fill the thing, put a cap on the nozzle, and then when I wanna use it I want to pop the cap off and pour. That's it. Anything sold right now has a 14 step process to fill and pour, and it's either going to break entirely or malfunction and piss gas everywhere.

I blame California.

Oh yes been there, done that with the gas can. It got to the point if I had to buy one I'd take it down to my repair place (when they sold gas) and my mechanic would remove that inside thingy that makes it so difficult to pour. It's ridiculous. And yes I blame California too!!!

I get the need for safety especially from kids but there is no need to overcomplicate it.

On the subject of gas, I rented a Buick Envision when I came up for vacation and had to tik tock and youtube how to open and fill the gas tank because there is no notch on the cover and once you open it, there is no gas cap. I just don't understand how that is even safe.

When something has a prop 65 warning, I am always glad I don't live in California, so I am safe from the cancer.

That’s odd. Was there at least some sort of rubber sleeve or anything that you had to force the pump nozzle through?

I have an old car with the gas cap behind the license plate, and the cap is basically a metal version of a gallon jug cap. That one doesn’t feel safe to me either.

Yea there was a gasket type thing but it seemed really flimsy. As long as you had something similar to the pump nozzle, you could break through the seal. I feel better knowing that I have to lift a lever in the floor of my drivers side in order to open the door to the tank.

Having the tank behind the license plate is definitely not safe.

I hope my Xbox(S, the tiny one) is OK. I use it to watch red sox games and stream pretty much everything sports related and last night I kept smelling something weird but I couldn't find anything out of the norm around my apartment. Fast forward hours later and I went turn my Xbox off before going to bed and found it wicked wicked hot. Unplugged everything and haven't tried it since.

I'd probably pop that open to make sure nothing is melting inside. When those overheat, they overheat with a quickness.

Hmm, maybe. I've had a couple friends tell me the same thing. They just seem like one of those things that's gonna break if I try. The Xbox.

My neighbor's house was gutted by a fire started by a phone charger that overheated & caught fire.

Electronics are great but you have to keep an eye on it.
