Team feels pretty rudderless. Not so bad they should be picking top five but not a playoff team. They fight hard though, or mostly they do.

Think they will give Pierce some time, at least two seasons I'd think, but will it matter as Adams might be gone sooner than later and the roster could easily take a step back?

They need a real quarterback, don't think either Minshew or O'Connell are an answer now or going forward, so they'll have to draft that. When is Arch Manning draft eligible? lol
Eligible? 2026. But he’s going to to in Tex’s for 4 years. Ewers is returning and will be the starter when he returns. So 2027. But Riola from NB might be the top prospect that year.

None of the prospects in 2025 get me excited….

Top five pick might have better chance of picking a top QB
This QB crop isn't that impressive.
Sanders, Beck, Ewers. Despite his hype Drew Allar of Penn State, hasn't shown much. For his size and arm talent, doesn't push the ball down the field. Probably best he return for a True SR season. Don't love the upside of the first 3. Ewers, kind of Bo Nix type guy. Not a big arm and enough mobility to move around. Beck, like other guys from elite programs, how will he handle playing with less talent? Similar lean build to Lawrence. Haven't seen much of Sanders.

Realistically, Arch Manning would come out in 2027 since he RS in 2023 and is backing up Ewers (with 2.5 games under his belt now) in 2024, but is expected to return to the bench after their bye week before they take on OU. He'll need 2 years starting in 2025 and 2026. Riola at NB, is a true FR, so he's also a 2027 (early entry) draft pick.

Have no clue who would be a QB to watch out for in 2026.

Giants, Panthers, Seahawks (will draft after LV), Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Miami, maybe Tennessee if Levis doesn't begin making better decisions would look at QB in round 1 in 2025 draft. But, none of those QBs look like 1OA picks.

When the offense was good the defense sucked. Now that the defense is good the offense sucks.

Driving out to Denver to go to my first NFL game this weekend. Should be an exciting battle of the punters.

Raiders schedule is Den, Pitt, LAR, KC, Cin before the bye. Have to get to 5-4.
After the bye, the final 8 is: Den, Jax, Atl, NO, TB, KC, LAC, Mia.

Have to get to 10 wins. Is there 8 wins in that list? I think they can get it, as Miami is in disarray without Tua, and Jax is 0-4.

Next 5 is crucial because if they end up at 4-5 before the TDL And bye week, I think they end up trading Adams.

Where's there's smoke...?
He was due for either a cut or a restructure on his $35.6 mill base salary for 2025. Yet it seems odd given how much he voiced his support of Pierce only to bail 1 month into the year.

Question is does he return to the Raiders at any time prior to the TDL? Assume LV has to eat some of the roughly $1 mill per game he makes ($17 mill base) as NYG did that with L Williams to get a second from Sea plus a 5th this draft.

Carr, JimmyAOC to Minschew. From A rod his whole career.

I think we all kind of expected this. But, if that was the case, Adams should have asked out in the off-season. Maybe he even gets to Houston instead of Diggs for that 2nd rounder.

But, to do Pierce like that after supposedly going to bat for him to be the HC?

Raiders were going to eat a big $23 mill or so dead cap charge if they dealt him in the summer. From his SB and restructure. His $17 mill base for 2024 was fully guaranteed, which is why his dead cap on Spotrac shows like $40 mill for 2024. That would go over to the other club if dealt.

Now, it seems like LV will have to eat some of that base salary to get that 2nd rounder. When Seattle got L. Williams, they only had to take maybe a $1 mill cap charge on him and he was due $10 mill still as he made $18 mill for 2023, thus the Giants ate most of it to get a 2nd rounder, otherwise, it likely is only a 3rd, like Wash got for Sweat.

That's also a frustration with constant changing of regimes every 3 years is that there is always going to be a boatload of dead cap when you move off guys. $32 mill in dead cap for 2024. $19 mill of that from the Zeigler regime decisions for Jones, Hoyer, and Jimmy G who basically both gave the team 1 year of service.

Just have to get the best return you can. Whether LV values the cap space of not retaining on Adams so that they can push that several million savings in 2024 (Base salary of $17 mill so nearly $1 mill per week of the season), over to 2025 to sign someone, or they value the draft position of something in the late 50's to early 60's more than one that is going to be 32 picks after that.
