It probably not happening. They won't get much if he's crap, and they extend his ass if he's great. Like I just wrote in another thread the Habs have been looking to fill that void for five years.

Meh, I wouldn't give up anything for him. I really think Montreal's going to regret signing him by Christmas.

Would not take Radulov for free, he is a problem for any team he has been on and is a me me type of player. He has some skill, but not elite, he is just too much baggage to bother with.

- 50 points player
- soft winger
- not a character guy
- something something bad 200 ft game

I expect little more or less than a late 2nd round pick.

better than panarin and tarasenko. withouth a question.

Really? you think Radulov who has only broken 25 goals in the NHL once(26) and has never broken 60 points is going to be better than Tarasenko who in the last two seasons had 37 goals 73 points and 40 goals and 74 points?

I'd be surprised if the situation arose but I don't see any way Radulov doesn't put up 25-30 goals. The guy is talented as all heck despite his other issues. He's a totally different reclamation project than Semin. Radulov has been playing at a high level even over seas. Semin lost his desire and willingness to put in a high effort at any level of professional hockey.

Edit: Also want to throw out there about Semin, when he's not playing on a team that has a chance, he packs it in. On a team with a legit chance on a solid line where he feels appreciated he's a different player, he needs his ego stroked.

No that's not what happened. He had two concussions and a broken wrist in a year. His injuries killed his NHL career, not his desire or some other nonsense.

Also want to throw this out there about Semin, he was a PPG player in 2013 despite the Canes having no chance at anything. He definitely didn't pack it in.

Radulov is the best Russian player period.
yep. malkin is not the same player he used to be. playing in the mean grinder for more than 10 years has taken its toll. ovechkin is cancer, datsyuk is old. kucherov is close. the rest is not even in the conversation.

At no point in his career has Radulov been even remotely the best russian player, not even close. Best in KHL yes, but KHL numbers mean nothing. A 34 year old Brandan freaking Bochenski scored 61 in 60 there last year, an AHL stiff. Nigel Dawes is a KHL star.

Malkin is still a better than him, its not close. Ovechkin is cancer? What is Radulov then? Tarasenko for sure is better on smaller ice. Kucherov will outscore him probably too, and is overall a smarter player.

Lets wait and see what he does in the NHL before we say he's better than anyone. The only rusdian I'd call him better than right now is Semin, just to give a reference. That said, I have a very good feeling about this guy. Hopefully he ends up with Galchenyuk

Sorry, let me try this again.

Radulov will be the best Russian player in NHL by the deadline.

And there's more to this than the points he scored in KHL, really. Ovechkin and Malkin also obviously at some point were better players than Radulov, I'm talking about "right now", not "career".

You know that Radulov is older than Malkin and was drafted same year with both him and Ovechkin together? What makes him better now? Is he aging like an old wine?

How could two consecutive posts like that could be so extreme in both ways?
We went from Radulov isn't better than any Russian except Semin to Radulov is better than Ovechkin and Malkin.

Wow, HF in a nutshell

LOL

He's probably top 10 in talent among the forwards in the league, 60+ pts shouldn't be hard for him

Soft winger? Have you ever seen him play? He's anything but soft.

Not a character guy? A playoff beast who plays the game with emotion is not a character guy? He had some maturity problem in the past, but that has nothing to do with his character.

If you watched him play, you'd see he's the one who backchecks the hardest on the team.

You're still talking about his draft position after 12 years?

Now there is a bold statement if this board ever has seen one.

Euh...
If Radulov has a good season, he's not getting traded at the deadline, because the Habs won't be sellers.

If he has a bad season, well, he'll be Worth nothing.

So : Nothing.

this will be a fun thread to revisit. Not sure what posts are serious, and what are sarcastic.
