Yeah, kinda like finger if you don't count goals, assists, points, shot playing style and focus on that they are both defenceman then yeah.
I said not production wise. I'm not trying to crap on it.

I'm just saying I feel Raddysh will be a product of the system they play for. I think he can still be effective but I don't think it's going to be at the level he gets paid for.

Why does everyone on here act like everything is an attack or insult.

I never said it would be bad for the Leafs. Just when Finger came to Toronto his level of production was not the same. I'm expecting similar with Raddysh. That is regardless of where he signed. The lightning were top 5 in points for this year.

I expect it to help the Leafs. My point was late bloomers and production was a bit lessened when they came over that is all.

Man I'm not even sold on this deal, I never have been but I remember Jeff Finger.

This isn't even REMOTELY compareable it's just not

Why do you think everything is an an attack or an insult? I don't think everything is.

Oh yeah, both did spend time in the minor leagues.

It might be cope but I don’t actually think the number is going to be bad. Well normal UFA bad but not as absolutely wild as people are predicting. Outside of a few outliers we haven’t really seen UFA salaries keep pace with the cap. I’m betting ~$8 million, probably less if the sign and trade is to go 8 years.

What I’m interested in is what did we give to Tampa to facilitate this. Normally it’s a nothing draft pick but I wouldn’t count on Tampa helping out a divisional rival for a 5th. Maybe the 3rd we got from Philly?

Edit: Sounds like I was partially right. Around $8 million but not less for 8 years.

I was thinking somewhere around 2 3rds or BUF's 2nd. Severson got a 3rd and given the weak UFA class I would expect it to be more than that.

8 years x 9 million is my prediction.

My fear is with this leaking that other teams swoop in and try and do the same thing.

Hopefully the handshake deal is done already and they're just waiting for morning to notify player and office though.

If you think he's the guy, you go out and get him. The Leafs seize an opportunity. Is he overrated? Eye of the beholder. There are plenty of defenseman who have one or two really big offensive seasons an go back to sleep. If they pay him like a 50-55 pt defenseman it won't be terrible.

The money is probably gonna be shocking and it's got a high probability of not being worth it, but the gamble does make sense for the Leafs. They want that quick turnaround, need help on D (especially a PP guy) and have the cap space.

The leafs are decent up front and need a lot of help on the backend.

This move has made sense from the jump. The leafs aren’t in a position to not gamble on this guy and it’s up to the player if last year was a fluke or not

I have no confidence in the Leafs for this to turn out well. Maybe Chayka will surprise me, but I'm very much expecting the worst possible outcome.

I wonder if we start to see prices rise in these types of trades given how much cap space there is around the league. Jumping the line might become more valuable.
