A little bit over halfway thru the season and we currently have 7 teams tied with 2-7 records as well as the Titans and Dolphins in the hunt at 2-6, this one is going to be a battle. Who comes out with the Prize?

New England
Cleveland
Jacksonville
New Orleans
Las Vegas
New York Giants
Carolina Panthers

Well, of the 2 win clubs so far, 1 has fired their HC. Another has fired 3 key Offensive coaches. Coaches are working to save their jobs.

And three first year coaches, everyone else's seats are probably at least warm
Even 1st year HC are never fully safe. And Miami extended McDaniel already. Same with Cle and Stefanski. Cleveland probably wouldn't be too concerned as Stefanski would get another HC job quickly so in terms of paying out his contract, they, like Carolina on Rhule, would be saved by offset language.

But, he's the best 2 win HC right now saddled with a terrible QB and a lot of dead cap in the coming seasons. With Cooper and Smith deals, that activates dead cap in 2025 of $22 odd mill for Cooper and $16 mill for Smith.

Lotta futility on that list. I think Carolina is the worst roster and should have the inside track, but I wouldn’t have bet on them winning against the Saints the other day. New England might be friskier down the stretch with Maye but that’s also a bad roster. Think it’s between those two for 1 overall with LV, NYG and CLE rounding out the top five when it’s all said and done.

Looking at each of the schedules on Tankathon. Feels like Carolina has the hardest schedule.

But it is pretty interesting how many of the 2 win teams play each other this weekend and down the stretch.

Yep. (Allen out)
Stefanski, McDaniel, Pederson, Daboll have been with their clubs at least 3 seasons.
Pierce, Canales, Callahan, Mayo all new HC to their programs.

I think Pierce is in the more precarious situation of the 1st year HC. Then it would be Canales.

Think Callahan and Mayo are going to be safe for 2025.

Yeah I think Pierce is as good as gone, time to bring in a guy that Brady has a lot of experience with from back east

After week 11, down to 5 clubs with 2 wins. Looking ahead, Ten and Jax have their h2h games to play so one will get 3 wins. Maybe even both. Jax and LV face off as well.
That’s it for the h2h among the 5 two win clubs for the rest of the season.

Do wonder if Sanders pulls a Manning and passes on going to say Cleveland. I think any of NYG or LV he’d go to. Jax won’t take him. Ten, would be behind by and LV and ahead of Cle. But if any/LV showed interest they might make the push to not go to Ten.

So now we officially know the 1st OA will go to the Titans, followed by the Browns and Giants

Is there any chance that Sheduer could pull an Eli and refuse to play for Tennessee and/or Cleveland?

I feel like I remember Coach Prime making some comments about not playing for certain teams

See how the draft evaluation process goes. Based on how NFL teams operate, if you draft a QB high, you are committing at least 2 years to him. So, the next 2 years of results matter second to the development of the QB. So, that QB you take better be worth doing that.

Is either QB worth it? Ten, 2nd year HC, so what is he going to do to ensure he's back for year 3 if they don't take a QB. Cleveland, in cap hell. Is either guy worth rebooting the team with? NYG, disaster with Jones the past 2 seasons. Raiders, disaster with Jimmy G and Minschew.

I believe at one point he said that Shadeur wasn’t playing for a cold weather team.

Browns has to be the absolute worst case scenario for him

That Watson contract is a massive anchor on it’s own and then everything on top of it

They also have $40 mill in dead cap from Cooper and Smith whom they traded away (though Cooper's contract was ending). And Watson was due to be a $70 mill cap hit. Browns deferred a lot of cap charges so it's only going to be worse for them over the next 3-4 seasons until all of the cap charges on Watson are absorbed.
