Tonight’s Pine Crest-Benjamin game with less than three minutes to go in a 2-goal game

So we watched the Isles game in the booth until the game was called

They got sorokin’d. Can ilya do this again at home? If so, isles might have themselves a toss up in game 7. We live to fight another day.

On a side note, the team defense tonight was absolutely abhorrent. Whatever.

I thought the defense was terrible tonight. And so was the PK. The Canes just had too much room in the Isles defensive zone. There were guys open in the slot all night. And the passive PK is maddening. It's not a good strategy for your goalie to be the best penalty killer on every PK.
This. When Aho is far and away better than everyone besides Pulock, that’s a problem. Pelech was absolutely putrid.

Pelech with his worst game ad an Islander. Should have put a Canes jersey on him with the constant lay ups to their players in our zone. Wtf?????????

I wanted Romanov before we got him, so Lou is N/A.

As for him being horrible, suffice to say we'll have to agree to disagree.

The poetry of his horrendousness is so often he makes a bad pass that isn't a giveaway, but puts the player he's passing to in a bad position so it leads to one.

Add in the fact that Lou gave up a top-15 pick for him. Those should be reserved as part of deals for better players.

You say that like we know who those 2 teams are....Or what sport they were playing.

See, and I give Romanov points against a fast, high pressure team like CAR for not just handing the puck to the other team like a lot of the other D have been doing. ;)

I hope they realize they are still in this thing, barely. If they just played a bit harder, sharper, and smarter, they'd be ahead. Those are components that are not necessarily based on pure skill. I keep going back to Lambert.

It says FloridaLacrosseNews across the top, so you can probably assume with a fair amount of confidence that the sport being played was lacrosse.

Turned this on to watch the Canes immediately score the offsides PP goal, and I immediately turned it off. Guess I’m a mush and can’t go Friday.

Dobson? Looks alternately weak and/or lost

He’s missing Barry and veteran partner
Still a young guy, needs that steady hand
His game, all around has suffered

He needs to learn from the school of Josi and Weber. Dude has a shot: use it!

The Islanders are so slow compared to Carolina. The Canes won every race to a loose puck in the last 10 minutes. It was Katy bar the door.
Sans Egvall streching out that gigantic stick and digging into corners I agree. At the same time we've played our grinding game well enough to counter it with the exception of game 4. Carolina's pretty damn beat up!

Martin and Clutterbuck have been hitting everything, but they looked real slow tonight.
Maybe time to rest one of them?
Clutter is exceptionally noticeable because he used to be a good skater. His once snappy wrist shot is also completely gone. But him and Martin sure do keep on pounding!

Dobson needs a quality, veteran partner. He was far better, and seemingly more relaxed, when playing with Greene and even on his offhand, way back when, with Boychuk. Exchanging Mayfield for a LHD PP specialist needs to be among the top-2 jobs for the off season.

...And don't underestimate having a hall of fame coach.

They won a road game looking like crap. They’ve looked shitty on the road all season. This bad play and a win is a good thing. can only get better. Some of you complaining about a road playoff win? smh
I just feel they didn’t look good in either win really. Carolina sort of controlled play in most of game 3. I think the best game they played all series might have been game 2

I'm sure some of you will disagree but after that successful challenge, it just felt like they were going to win this one. Timely goals, good sticks in lanes, decent bounces and great goaltending. Come out on fire Friday night, we aren't dead yet.
