Reminds me of some of the BS we saw from Flinstone and Weight

Lane makes some very headscratching decisions, especially with respect to personnel, and puts players in a position to fail far too often. At this point I would have expected better. Maybe he will learn, but the NHL isn't a developmental league.

I mean this, Canes fans are the dumbest in hockey. They're bitching about a body check.
This is why I think the Isles need to play their finishing the checks game. The Canes want a hit free game where they are free to skate with impunity. Isles best chance to keep extending this series is to play their game, and not be scared the refs outlaw hitting, or what I call it finishing your checks. Perfectly legal in hockey.

They looked as shitty as I presumed (outside of 10 mins in the 3rd). They won, I'll take it.

I know the personnel is old and flawed, but Lambert's not maximizing.

Engvall was fantastic on the forecheck all night

I thought Engvall had a nice game. If he could be that player more consistently, he would be a long-term fit alongside Nelson and Palms.

His speed and ability to carry the puck into the zone solidifies that line.

The Isles need to figure out if he can do it regularly, does he have the desire and enough of an edge, to make extending him a contract worthwhile?

Right now, I just don't know. But the Isles should be able to see how he trains and practices, and that could be enough to make an informed decision.

Which is why I'm screaming to lock down the PK. The PP is hopeless but we need to be more aggressive and less passive on these kills. Tonight got better after we lucked out on the disallowed goal.

Guys are also seemingly missing assignments more than in the Barry years.

See I think he also is pretty good at in game mgmt, our centers are a strength and he always has two out for defense zone draws even early in games. I also think the flipping Pageau and Horvat worked tonight.

They won a road game looking like crap. They’ve looked shitty on the road all season. This bad play and a win is a good thing. can only get better. Some of you complaining about a road playoff win? smh
