he is 19 so slide eligible right?

So anyway Matt Davis the Denver Goalie is a senior.....an undrafted one. Last year he earned a reputation for pretty much being unbeatable in the NCAA tournament and he stoned BC again tonight. That's after just giving up one goal to Providence College in their first game in the tournament. Someone I think is going to pick this guy up and he's probably going to be an NHL goalie some day. I like Igor a lot and I like Garand but there's nothing wrong with giving them some competition. My guess is Domingue is not going to be back next year so we'll have an opening.

i mean does he burn a ELC year if he touches NHL ice? @TGWL @GAGLine
His contract would have to start this year for him to play with the Rangers. If that happened, then yes, he would burn a year. I forget the exact way it works, but it's fairly common for players to do that.

Cutter Gauthier did it last year. He played 2 years at BC, then after the trade from Philly, signed with Anaheim and played 1 game for them. He is now in year 2 of 3 of his contract.

Gabe should sign before Wednesday and play these last 8 games in the NHL. Unless he lights the world on fire I still like him to start in Hartford next year. Right now the team needs as spark and Perrault is coming off high stakes games. Get him in there, Lord knows we need another passer

The NCAA tournament is a crapshoot. BC was the top rated team headed into the tournament.

1-BC
2-Michigan State
3-Maine
4-Western Michigan

Western Michigan is the only team to make the Frozen Four.

BC's reward for being the top team was playing the defending champion Denver Pioneers in the 2nd round. Denver is going for their third championship in 4 seasons.

Michigan State lost to Cornell. Maine lost to Penn State. Both lost in the opening games.

What seems to be sustaining Denver U is they're deep through their lineup. They're also very well coached and it kind of reminds me of what Minnesota Duluth was doing 7-8 years ago. They get a lead and then they clog the neutral zone and turn every puck possession for the other team into a battle to move the puck up the ice.....and wait for mistakes and turn them back into the opponents end...forecheck a bit and clog the middle again and if the refs put away their whistles it works to their advantage too. And on the occasions when things break down they have a really good goalie.

BC was a two line deep team. The bottom two lines not much threat to score and it's hard to sustain pressure that way. When you try rolling lines there's always kind of a let up. As far as Perreault--he scores a goal and it's taken away. He had a few other chances and he had some nice set ups that his teammates weren't able to finish. His productions depends a lot on his teammates finishing.

Now he has a decision to make---stick with BC for one more year? or sign with the Rangers? An offer is probably already out there. If either he or Leonard leaves I don't think BC is going to be a better team next year. Championships can be elusive.

My guess is if the Rangers sign Perreault he won't play until maybe the final two/three games. That Drury and Laviolette haven't given up on the idea yet that we might sneak into to take the last playoff spot....and until that happens or more likely becomes an impossibility they're going to go with what they have right now and not throw Perreault or anyone else into the fire.

1. I think the Rangers fully prepared to burn the first ELC year through the end of this season. 2. The team has also been underperforming so I’d be more readily willing to agree with you the group was humming on all cylinders fighting for top seed or home ice rather than just the very last spot. The need help generating offense.
I definitely could be wrong and Drury decides to take a slower approach to introducing Perreault to the NHL, but I’d bet they just throw him in after a few practices and see how it goes.
