Only dip in Swayman numbers is this year. Every year in any league, he's been greatIs he Carey Price or really Matt Murray though?

I easily trade Savoie before I trade Orielly. I wouldn’t be shocked if Orielly becomes an NHL regular before Savoie as wellStop trading O'Rielly. The more people I talk to in the O, the more I realize how much of a gem we have here. This is the C we've always wanted in the 2/3 role. I'd trade Savoie 1000x over befoe I trade O'Rielly
Oof that's a slow pairing. We got room for Marner, Ekblad and Gibson if we trade Bouchard, Stuart, Kane, Arvid and Henrique. Bouchard on his own will net us a ton of assets.

Ekblad is not a guy I'd want on my top pairing. More of a #4.Oof that's a slow pairing.
He's probably a #3, but yeah, the foot speed between those 2 would be rough. And you can only trade Bouchard if you're getting a legit starting goalie back.Ekblad is not a guy I'd want on my top pairing. More of a #4.
Probably the cheapest Swayman is ever going to cost. He's the closest to Carey Price of this generation. Yes Price had bad seasons before he broke out in 2010
I'm usually against going after a high cap goalie. But Swayman seems pretty safe to rebound as the Oilers are a good team and the cap is rising sky high. 95M, 104M and 114M.I'm not a fan of going for a high cap goalie, but I fully admit I am no good at evaluating goalies either. I am strictly against Swayman because of his contract and how it could blow up on us and frankly, this team is good enough to win with average or slightly above goaltending imo. So I don't see the need in paying big money and assets going for the homerun type trade, I prefer a lower cost and less commitment in a Gibson type move. That said, im curious where you get the Price comparable from?
Price was 22 in 2010 and only had a .905 season as his "bad" one. Swayman is 26. Also they were drafted rounds 1 and 4. Honestly outside of this year, Swayman probably has better numbers at this stage of their careers, but he has played on some good teams and different leagues entirely coming up. If their playstyle is where you see similarities, what are they? Again, I'm mostly just a by the numbers and highlights guy with goaltending outside of our team, so I'm genuinely curious.
Probably less likely, but if we're going for a goalie in that range, I would have Sorokin as my #1 target.I'm usually against going after a high cap goalie. But Swayman seems pretty safe to rebound as the Oilers are a good team and the cap is rising sky high. 95M, 104M and 114M.
8.25M will feel like 5M in 3 years
I think you need to pony up for 50% retention on Gibson, no matter what. Keep tending as cheap as possible in case he sucks here. I also think you need to go above 12 for Marner to come here, and don't think Brownie re-signs for 1m.We got room for Marner, Ekblad and Gibson if we trade Bouchard, Stuart, Kane, Arvid and Henrique. Bouchard on his own will net us a ton of assets.

Ekblad and Walman are interchangeable. Depending who works better with Ekholm/Nurse. The bottom 6 is experienced going into the season and can be fixed at the trade deadline and that's where the assets from the Bouchard trade will come in handy. The most important thing is we have our #1 goalie in Gibson. McDrai, elite winger in Marner and 4 x top 4 D in Ekholm, Ekblad, Nurse and Walman.I think you need to pony up for 50% retention on Gibson, no matter what. Giving up Bouchard to sign Ekblad for 8m seems like a move right out of summer 2024. I don't mind Ekblad, but he has had injury issues and is obviously a downgrade offensively on Bouch. If we're trading Bouchard, it's probably because his play doesn't pick up these playoffs. If that's the case, his value is so much lower than last offseason. Teams will disregard his points due to McDrai and point to his defensive gaffs. Just feels a lot like selling low, only to target a guy with some concerns, who also already has a cup, which he wouldn't be the first guy to fall off in his early 30's after signing a big deal because that drive isn't quite the same as it used to be due to already having his name on the cup.
I do like consolidating some of our 3-4-5m dollar vets into Marner, though I'm not a fan of that bottom 6. Too much inexperience especially at C in all of Tomasek, Savoie, Philp and Hutson.
If you can bridge Bouch at 6-7.5, which is around the same cap% as Nurses second bridge, that gives you a little extra flexibility on the fwds. If Bouchard is even average these playoffs, I think that's the move rather than turfing 3 roster fwds AND our top pairing RHD. If he is brutal, you really need to not get screwed on a trade, and if he is great, keep him and make it work.
I imagine via fax or digital signature. No idea, though. How was Stolarz signed for only 2.5x2?
Because he was a career #2/3 goalie who finally put it together in the NHLHow was Stolarz signed for only 2.5x2?

Try to do, Nursen Henrique, Stu, 1st, 1st, prospect for Swayman and Zadorov. So is Boston trying to get rid of Swayman? I think we might have to take a swing.
I think we're going to see a big name goalie acquired before July 1st. One of Gibson or Saros with Skinner+ going the other way.If I’m McDavid I’d sign, but I would make the org sweat. Just tell them to fix the goaltending, fix the team in general and then I’ll sign. Don’t just hand them another 8 years. I’m sure by preseason we’d have a better starting goaltender.
And then you woke up and remembered we have the GM that thought acquiring Seth Jones and signing him to $9m a year was a good idea.I think we're going to see a big name goalie acquired before July 1st. One of Gibson or Saros with Skinner+ going the other way.
Still don't get the Bowman hiring. He was bad in Chicago and is looking bad in Edmonton. And then you woke up and remembered we have the GM that thought acquiring Seth Jones and signing him to $9m a year was a good idea.
