Alexis and Byfield are performing pretty similarly and Alexis has produced more in the NHL.... so are you comparing them? Why does NYR suck at developing forwards but the Kings don't? What strange post. Even King fans can admit developing forwards in LA has been a problem whether it's coaching, injuries, botched picks.Sending Byfield to NYR would be a giant waste of his talent. You have failed to develop 4 top 7 forward picks in the last several years so Byfield would just rot there. NY gives up a bunch of crap to get Byfield, hilarious post.
I'd rather take Matta backYou need a defensive LD you say? Well my friend, I have just the one for you...
Ben Chiarot!
Because good guy GM Steve Yzerman is suuuuch a good guy, he'll give Chiarot to his old buddies Blake and Robataille for future considerations!

Rangers have objectively been very poor at developing forwards. Lots of high first round picks with very little to show for it.displaying a vapid iq -- the conclusion one must draw from your answer -- is not a good look!
"...NYR ... have failed to develop 4 top 7 forward picks in the last several years so Byfield would just rot there".
We have developed some top guys after acquiring, e,g, Zib, Strome.
Lias Andersson should never have been drafted = unable to be developed.
Agree they should have drafted someone else, but it proves to my pt.
Kakko + Chytil are emerging as winners at their own speed.
LaF a little behind due to his skating, but that continues to improve and kid line satisfies eye test, LaF productive w/correct linemates.
Your assessment is thus wrong, at least as to the general thrust of your implication.
"NY gives up a bunch of crap to get Byfield, hilarious post."
Neither what NY gives up, nor what AZ is kicking in, suggests LA winds up w/"a bunch of crap".
I don't mind criticism from those who disagree, but I insist same be honest and accurate.
An uneven record, yes.Rangers have objectively been very poor at developing forwards. Lots of high first round picks with very little to show for it.
They drafted 4 forwards in the top 10 in 4 straight years, including a first and second overall pick.An uneven record, yes.
Some, yes.
A lot -- I wouldn't say that.

Are you still following me around? Damn I gotta block you again take a hint. Borderline stalker status. Are you dumping on Byfield again? Good lord man. Your schtick is getting tiresome

Well you’re right with the physical d-man but the other two your way out of touch.1st center, 2nd center, physical d-man.
LD and goalie are the two needs for LA. Not more forwards.Ok...what are the Kings' needs?
In general i oppose any trade involving someone 30+You need a defensive LD you say? Well my friend, I have just the one for you...

I honestly can't tell if that is an insult or a real trade proposalByfield + Petersen for Saros.
Buddy... i really thought we were pretty clear about Byfield.1. Almost w/o exception, league wide there are no sacred cows. Historically even Gretzky got traded. So theoretically almost anybody COULD be dealt IF IF IF there wuz enuf on the table.
2. Byfield is a premium aside with superior, possibly elite upside. He is not going anywhere unless the return is worth it.
3. LA does have signif # of pivots, and Kopitar could, if not worn down from overuse, give a solid 3 years past this season. So that part of the equation is not an issue.
I don't see Chych 1:1 ish as enuf.
I see Chych ++ as possibly enuf
Rough first draft:
1) NYR-OTT
a) Shesty + Hajek
for
Sanderson + Talbot
Sens get Vezina. NYR gets young stud LD. Complementary secondary players swap.
OTT improves acceleration to compete. Rs get necessary cap relief, gambling that Talbot, who played well here including under G guru coach Allaire, along with Halak, while Garand arrives next year.
b) LaF + Henrikson + Korzack
for
Pinto + Grieg
LaF is not gonna be Jagr. He will be Steve Vickers esp if he gets correct linemates a la eye test confirms w/kid line. LaF is a MAJOR biz coup acquisition esp since Sens are one upping regional rival Habs.
Add to LaF [1OA], Hen was a 2nd 58OA and Korczak was a 3rd rounder 75OA both are elc contracts.
Grieg [28OA] and Pinto [32OA] also elcs
Performance value remains to be seen as to who hits their ceiling, but regardless, LaF acquisition is big $$$ maker for Sens team getting sold.
c) Zaitzev 4.5 expires next yr retained to 3.5 for prospects/cap dumps totaling ballpark 3.5 =
Carpenter 750k + Brodzinski 762,500 + Pajuniemi 883,750 + Leschshyn 766,667.
This is a backscratch. NY does not want Zait. Howev, above 2 deals, while good value for both, help NY hurt OTT w/cap. Thread at this forum said Sens would give prospect/pick to move Zait. This largely does that. Prospects can be flipped.

that now brings us to 3 way...
LA gives up: Byfield
LA gets: Chych, Kravtsov, Valimaki, Robertson, Zaitzev max retained to 1.75
summary: surrenders a top C prospect for immediate 1LD + 2 quality LD prospects + stopgap cheap LD. All LD are w/size as per Kings pref. Kravtsov was 9OA, according to EdJovo has stats that compare favorably w/bread at similar period, should help w/instant W contribute and has played pivot in international and, looking like a young Jean Ratelle, could be a long term C successor to Kopi.
AZ gives up: Chych, Valimaki, returns NYR 2025 2nd
AZ gets: Lindgren, Grieg, Goodrow, Lindbom, better of NYR/Dal 2023 1st, also NYR 2024 1st
summary: Lindgren steps in, solid value at 3 per likely can be extended, and is a ballpark 20OA 1st value. Grieg a 1st value helps also w/F needs, as does Goodrow. Lindbom was a 2nd rounder, 39OA. Started late. Valued high by Allaire to be picked so high. Potential competitor for 'yotes netminder in the near future.
NY gives up: Lindgren, Kravtsov, Grieg, Zaitzev max retained to 1.75
NY gets: Byfield, NYR 2025 2nd
summary: ny moves on, consolidates, has cap control to extend, not bridge, both KAM + chytil
nyr
bread - Tro - Vesey
Kreider - Zib - Tara
Byfield - Chytil - Kakko
Cuylle - Pinto - Gauthier
reserve: Rydahl
Sanderson - Fox
KAM - Trouba
Harpur/Mikkola* - Schneider
supplanted by Scanlin next yr
The user name did check out.In general i oppose any trade involving someone 30+
I wish he would be 25 or something
I honestly can't tell if that is an insult or a real trade proposal
You really think those players are untouchable for an upgrade? Thanks for the laugh...Buddy... i really thought we were pretty clear about Byfield.
Even the Kings management made clear that Byfield and Clarke are not available whatsoever and here we are again.
Another 27 team fantasy trade without even a remote chance of life right after birth.
Beside the fact that we don't have any interest in any of the players you mentioned beside Robertson, this proposal is as ridiculous as it gets.
We will be back to square one but i cut the usual corners.
Robertson as 3rd pairing is of interest
Not available Byfield, Clarke , Kupari, Vilardi, Fagemo, 1st, Kempe, Turcotte
Please feel free to answer the Robertson deal
that would mean being a slave to instant gratification, which is not smart. They drafted 4 forwards in the top 10 in 4 straight years, including a first and second overall pick.
All of them would fall significantly in a redraft.
I mean, for an upgrade, any player is available. But realistically, Byfield, Clarke, and Kempe aren't available and it would take an awful lot to get Vilardi. You really think those players are untouchable for an upgrade? Thanks for the laugh...

Kappo, Chytil took time and are fine
LaF a bit behind but still projects, like I called it: not Jagr, but Steve Vickers
This is not my idea, most of the names come from experts directly covering the Kings and having connectionYou really think those players are untouchable for an upgrade? Thanks for the laugh...
LA Kings have more "untouchables" than Eliot NessI mean, for an upgrade, any player is available. But realistically, Byfield, Clarke, and Kempe aren't available and it would take an awful lot to get Vilardi.
