There's one team. Are there any players in the NHL that dont want contend?
If he wants to play with his brothers, he can do that. He can make it known that he will sign in NJ once his contract expires. That would mean Canucks have 3 options: 1) lose him for nothing in a couple of years, 2) trade him to one of the 30 other teams as a known rental asset, or 3) trade him to NJ where he will extend long term.I love that somehow if we have to trade Hughes its going to be to NJ.
That's funny, because my username is actually a homage to you as a poster.User name checks out....
He said he wanted to go to a contender.Leafs would be all in on this. Like a serious package. One of the few players in the league they make Knies available for. They could do something like Knies + first + top prospect
If Knies is the centrepiece it doesn’t sound very seriousLeafs would be all in on this. Like a serious package. One of the few players in the league they make Knies available for. They could do something like Knies + first + top prospect

64 and 65 are in between 43 a d 86 but maybe he’ll go a different route and wear zero or 129 because the Hughes’ go by 43’s only. But what number would be in NJ? #43 Hughes is already taken.

negative. you are dealing with a rhird party fan. silayev and nemec won't be both in the package.IF Canucks HAD to, yeah.
Swap Grits for Anton Silayev though.
But 5 pieces that most teams cant give, and yet with zero leverage VAN still commands a haul from the one team that holds all the UFA cards.
Devils fans will tell you they'll just wait but thats the cost to secure it anytime before 2028.
Wrong.they literally just got f***ed over in 2 different trades in the last 18 hours
who is to say they won't f*** this up too?
That’s an easy no from NJ. They can get him for 0 in free agency if that’s where he wants to be.Hughes

That kinda blew up in Tampa Bay's face when they wanted to wait for Noah Hanifin to hit the market. He got traded and he actually resigned where he ended up.That’s an easy no from NJ. They can get him for 0 in free agency if that’s where he wants to be.

Do the Devils risk that small chance? Vancouver will NOT let Quinn walk without moving him first. If they know he's out the door, they'll get an Anton Silayev and a couple other pieces, and it won't mortgage the Devils future very much.
Then again, this is less likely a Noah Hanifin situation, and VERY much a Scott Niedermayer situation. Just kind of funny that now, the Devils have the carrot named Rob Niedermayer on their team. Irony can be hilarious.
Say you didn't read the whole post without saying you didn't read the whole post.Tampa Bay didn't have two Hanifin brothers in their lineup.
You know I was just thinking about something like this, Q. Hughes for Murcer/Nemec, along those lines!Hughes

#6. I believe he has worn that number before in international competition. But what number would be in NJ? #43 Hughes is already taken.
Luke is 6'2". I dont think Quinn is strong enough to hold him down. Maybe with Jack's help.43. You don’t let your younger brother have your number, you hold him down and threaten to loogie him if he doesn’t give it to you.
Don't threaten us with a good time.As he doesn't have any trade protection he'll be thrown at Buffalo for Owen Power+ just so the Canucks management can say "Well, at least he won't complain about our management decisions going there".
Power, 1st, Kulich for Hughes and Buffalo can have Dahlin and Hughes both on the PP doing whatever they wanted.
Pretty much. I guess we'll see later down the road, until then keep daydreaming. That’s an easy no from NJ. They can get him for 0 in free agency if that’s where he wants to be.
