EK was traded immediatelly after his best season by far, I wonder what your definition of prime is.You missed “in his prime”
How are they even comparable players besides being exceptional playmakers and skaters ?EK was traded immediatelly after his best season by far, I wonder what your definition of prime is.
The question was not about comparable players. The question was about last Norris winner being traded. How are they even comparable players besides being exceptional playmakers and skaters ?
Overrating the f*** out of Dahlin.Dahlin is better than Quinn
Tage is better than EP
I mean, does Buffalo do that ? Hughes is better than both, but like you said that's about good value as you can get.Lol. People come on to suggest Dahlin and Thompson for Hughes as if it's even possible in fantasyland let alone reality.
Under the assumption a player will not re-sign, this would be tremendous value to get back.
DahlinI know you’re just joking but what is a realistic add if any?
I’m thinking Dahlin for Hughes straight up. Hughes might very well be a two season rental. Although Hughes, with that Sabres lineup, could be a club that goes on deep playoff runs.Dahlin

I cannot believe you posted this because of course the Canucks would gladly accept.....I mean Buffalo is not even giving up one of their top players and we all know Hughes is average...even if Buffalo had the 1st overall in that package, that is an easy NO from Vancouver...a starting point would be Dahlin, Buff 1st ++
It was an outlier season and everyone knew it.EK was traded immediatelly after his best season by far, I wonder what your definition of prime is.
Oh of course Buffalo would never in a million years make that trade. It'd be one of the worst in NHL history. The difference between Hughes and Dahlin is not a 40 goal scoring top line center.I mean, does Buffalo do that ? Hughes is better than both, but like you said that's about good value as you can get.
If Hughes can't put Vancouver over the top, how will he help a Sabres team minus Dahlin and Thompson.
I can agree with thatOh of course Buffalo would never in a million years make that trade. It'd be one of the worst in NHL history. The difference between Hughes and Dahlin is not a 40 goal scoring top line center.
31 years old D doesn’t qualify as being in their prime? Prime years for D are usually 28-33.He/she said “in their prime”. Doesn’t qualify.

I’ll take Hagens, Power and Quinn over Hughes from either teams POV.
