Player Discussion Quinn Hughes, Pt. VII

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
3) He hasn't been in Vancouver receiving treatment for his injuries during this break, he actually flew to the States to hang out with Luke and watch the tournament. So there's been at least a full week where he wasn't getting any extra rehab/treatment

wtf?

is our medical staff and executive decision making so inept that in the past 12 months we couldn’t get all three of demko, petey, and now hughes to undergo/consent to obviously needed treatment and rehab regimens?

With the rumblings from players past and present, this medical staff sounds like it's made its fair share of blunders. I would give Canucks medical staff a complete over haul if I was the man in charge of this team. Their professional opinions and decisions have been atrocious for the well being of the player, or better yet the person that has to live their life after their shitty advice.

Fire them all.

Werenski 3 points up on Hughes in 9 more games
Makar 4 points up on Hughes in 11 more games

He's currently 7th in league PPG and on pace to score 103 points over an 82 game season.

This was a slam dunk back-to-back Norris win for him and injuries are robbing him of that.

But my preference is for him to stay out of the lineup until there's little-to-no risk of him re-injuring himself further.

Sounds like the injuries will be with him for the rest of the season, so I'd only want him to return if they can be properly maintained and not get any worse.

Him winning the Norris this season would've been one of the only bright spots for us and we can't even have that.

Imagine how it’s going to be when he leaves for NJ?

Hughes last game for the Canucks was Jan. 31, and he was listed as 'day-to-day'. If he misses tomorrow's game in Utah, then it'll be closer to a month, than day-to-day or even week-to-week.

If this is serious, then it's not to early to talk about 'next year' for this team. They simply aren't good enough to compete without him......and would by necessity, become significant 'sellers at the TDL.

Every time Hughes is out, or comes back and plays 30 minutes in his return--he's cementing himself as serious contender for the Hart.

With him in the lineup, and they have a decent shot at a playoff spot.....without him, they're done.
